Shyster

I kinda want to see dinosaur girl as a NSFW vote incentive. Err... for the science.

Merle Blue

Thanks!!

Hugh Eckert

Anyone who's ever read Watership Down should have mad respect for lagomorph combat abilities.

Hugh Eckert

Highly recommend the Common Descent paleontology etc. podcast. Will and Dave are a) very good at sci-comm, b) super enthused and entertaining, and c) complete nerds.

Hugh Eckert

Some kind of *hopper*. Heh.

John Anderson

Thanks, I'll bow to your expertise. I'm not going to go around sniffing rats, unless they are very, very domesticated.

Mark Nach

Come on. She looks like a grown up Baby-Bop. It is not easy to get cuter.

ufgrat

Look-- one of the weres in this scene reminds people of Barney. The other probably brings to mind Lola Bunny.

eddi_TBH

Some pointers from Math and she'd be unbeatable. Also very annoying.

eddi_TBH

Just relax. Really relax. You may not want to come back.

eddi_TBH

I think they are all Arc members or Shadow Council. A tough bunch to damage. Neither Slam or Sydney seem worried and Kat is just embarrassed.

eddi_TBH

The similarity in diet means a similar general scent.

eddi_TBH

It's a size thing. She is the smallest were she knows. And note, she doesn't get any larger in her hybrid size. Her full monty is probably even cuddlier with a twitching nose.

eddi_TBH

Look at those ears. Aren't they cute? First one to call her "Flopsy" gets kicked into Lunar orbit.

Mark Nach

Poor Kat. If she just accepted the simple fact that a were-hare is still a powerful form to have.

John Anderson

This may be the best post I’ve ever read in a Comment section.

John Anderson

I don’t think I could tell the difference with a sniff test. Although to be honest, I have never tried, nor intend to.

John Anderson

At the risk of dating myself, they were lumped with the rodents when I learned classification. My sensitivity about lagomorphs may be a result of having had to learn the difference.

Louis Richards

Yes, but can YOU tell the difference with a sniff test? The similarities between rodents and lagomorphs led them to be classified together until the 20th Century. Now, instead of being a group in the order Rodentia, lagomorphs are their own order, but still considered to be closely related.

Stefan J Neylon

The sound effect seems to have come from hitting the metal container. I was talking about the construction worker who seems to have been knocked off of it. His skin tone seems darker than Achilles.

Stephen Gilberg

At least hares are more badass than rabbits.

Stephen Gilberg

Scientifically, yes. Casually, they count as "rodents."

SheepFace2000

The first wererabbit was a pest control incident gone wrong in Wigan, England

John Anderson

The super headquarters was on fire, and it wasn’t my fault.

John Anderson

Bunnies are lagomorphs, not rodents.

Jared Juetten

That's the problem with super powers - fits of anger can lead to big destruction.

Jared Juetten

From the sound effect I think it was Achilles.

Richard Riley

I'm pretty sure almost all of the half-form lycans were 98% created by hollywood's earliest film days, when gluing fur to someone's face and arms was a realistic choice but training a wolf was not. I suspect it grew out of stage "transformations" where a man wore a wolf pelt and the audience was supposed to suspend disbelief and accept that he was now playing an actual wolf despite looking like a man wearing a pelt.

Richard Riley

Thunderbird was already taken anyway, we had to make them thunderlizards for copyright reasons.

IvyReed

Have we covered what happens if you get double lycanthroped? I still feel sorry for Kat who the heck makes a were-rabbit in the first place? ... I wonder if the space people have a cure for lycanthropy? Don't feel too bad Kat, you're still a badass!

Aclys

At some point in the mythos, it became popular to pit lycantropes against vampires as a kind of natural enemies/rivals of spookyness. And given that vampires are often superhumanly strong, fast and so on lycantropes with merely the strength of normal wolves wouldn't exactly amount to much of a contest.

Stefan J Neylon

Did she just kill a man? It looks like one of them is about to land on his head.

Town Crier

Well, current theories consider dinosaurs more closely related to birds than lizards, and birds are warm-blooded.

Merle Blue

Aye! Man, I really need to start reading paleo journals again

Greg Morrow

Most of the animals in the dinosaur+pterosaur group probably had body temperatures that were significantly elevated over ambient. The degree of homeostasis is questionable -- we are within a degree or so of 98F unless we're sick because we have strong homeostasis, but across the whole group of dinos (and the huge range of body size) we can assume there were different approaches.

Greg Morrow

The growth rate in the littles also suggests elevated body temperature.

Immortal_Knight

Perhaps in his earliest comic form, but AFAIK for animation supes has always been super human being "faster than a speeding bullet" and "able to leap tall buildings (skyscrapers) in a single bound". But now? yeah damn. God like powers eh? amazing

Nathan Wilson

That makes sense, cool

gaijin 99

Looks like a cement mixer to me.

Nathan Wilson

Can't tell what that thing she kicked off was supposed to be. Some kind of hopper? That was attached to a mailbox looking thingamajig

Martin Drkoš

Are there any were-insects?

Mark Magagna

The amount of power in your cool character that you're telling stories about tends to creep up over time. Look at Superman. AFAIK the original version was stronger than a human (throwing a car) and therefore could jump really far. After 20 years or so of stories (and other competing characters), he's moving the Earth around in space and able to fly faster than light.

You_With_The_Face

Art she "accidentally" saw? Syd sure scalied that one excuse back real quick.

Anton Schleef

She can even claim she wasn't a catalyst, just an innocent bystander for a change.

Merle Blue

Short version: Triceratops MAY have been semi coldblooded but used its sheer size and digestion to stay a consistent temperature, but that wouldn't work for baby dinos, so they might have STARTED warm blooded and then cooled off as adults

Anton Schleef

There are a few legends that implied they had enhanced strength and speed, but more near the upper limits of what a determined human can achieve through training and not super-human levels. Heck, even the super-healing and being hard to hurt are mostly newer aspects to the mythos as well.

Merle Blue

Oh, man, I just did a mini dive into the current research on warm/cold bloodedness in non-theropod dinosaurs and it is a WILD ride

Madcat6204

I find myself wondering, when did the whole super strength concept become attached to the idea of lycanthropy (and similar assorted animal transformations)? Because the original versions for millennia seem to have just been men who transformed into vicious animals. It seems like it's only in semi-modern versions that we get the part man / part beast super strong and fast variety.

Madeleine

Were sloth. I just haven't found out how to morph yet.

BigKumaDM

I really beg to on your sphynx cat part. Just look at the video "straight up villain / animation meme" by wingedwolf95 on youtube. I could see that hybrid in your world as a drug gang leader who tattoos magic onto her followers.

DonnieRamesJio

If the Bloody Roar series taught me anything it's that WereRabbits are strong as fuck

Michael Obert

Look at it this way, Kat, you can always enroll in competitions for superpowered Muay Thai or Capoeira!

Michael O'Driscoll

At least sydney didn't cause the damage. This time.

3of4

Kat really regrets her Weregacha luck.
