Ya know, I got Irish genetics... never noticed a difference in alcoholic quantities for ingestion, at first I thought it was offset by the massive amounts of French genetics (Don't ask, I never got a chance to) but then a friend in the military pointed out that most people don't spend time while getting ready for a night out downing a bottle (sometimes 2) of JD just to make sure I actually had a decent buzz at the bars (decent being barely tingle-y)... Because spending 1K us just to keep a buzz for one night of "party-ing" was a bit much, considering I think I made out with 1.2k a month.

I've always wondered why people think of Zima as "shitty". I'm not a drinker (at all, got too many alcoholics in my famly to want to take the risk), but I tried one once just to see what everybody was bitching about... I like it a hell of a lot more than beer. Incidentally, "Zima" is Russian for winter. I found that out while doing research for an OC Russian superhero for my TTRPG

Fun fact about USAmerica: prior to prohibition, the average adult had about 12 shots of hard liquor a day, Plus hard cider and beer! A lot of teetotalers didn't think "no more liquor" but rather "maybe that is too much" and "let's cut it back to like two or three drinks a day?" The "no more alcohol at all, ever!" crowd was a small but vocal minority

Now, I understand it depresses ones sense of fatigue more than it depresses ones energy, but it also afflicts a bunch of other cognitive abilities in ways that one really doesn't expect or appreciate when one is chugging energy drinks to work overtime to get stuff done by a work deadline.

The point is its for people who don’t like the the taste of alcohol. It tastes good but still contains alcohol, in amounts good for replacing a beer but not like you’re sipping on jolly rancher vodka.
