Maxima lounging by the ring (NSFW)
🕑 Added 2024-04-18 10:01:01 +0000 UTCEvery so often I get the urge to try and draw Maxima all properly shiny, and this... isn't my favorite attempt if I'm honest. I've been sitting on this for a little while doing little tweaks, and decided to finally publish it cause I'm already behind on these.

Supers don't have body hair. Well, men still can grow beards, but nothing below the neck. Is there a canonical explanation for this or do I just think body hair is yucky? Yes.

I think it has to do with being a Super, believe it was mentioned MANY pages ago while discussing why every Super seems to be the pinnacle of physical beauty. Believe all female Supers have no body hair below the neck, possibly same for the males too.

OK, so I have a slightly weird question But First, I have to mention amazing work Second, I notice in all of the pieces done with Maxima she has no pubes whatsoever. Does she no longer Grow because of her powers does she have a special razor or is it just a artistic chose (or is it a super thing with a no longer grow pubic hair)

Wearing The Cape has this come up a few times as well, usually when someone with super strength is describing it to norms, or giving warnings about how to use their powers to someone who has recently gained their powers. They even go into how speedsters, depending on just how their power works, actually have to step out of super speed and cautiously speed up/slow down when transporting norms to prevent the G forces from the suddenly acceleration/deceleration from killing them, or really anyone without a certain minimum degree of enhanced durability.

Because the civilization that developed the stuff that transformed her found the all gold look to be creepy. They were also perverts, so lips, nipples, inner labia are all still pink/red, and eyes are normal because metallic eyes creeped them out. /headcanon

I think supers are just ripped by default in this setting, they don't seem to get body fat unless it's part of their power. A lot of settings use that explanation, actually, either supers in general are ripped by default, or specifically those with physical powers, so super strength has you built like a power lifter, super speed has you built like an Olympic runner, etc. As for the biology, a lot of settings has powers, especially physical powers, use a LOT of calories, so it makes sense they'd put on less fat as their powers burn through whatever fuel they get and thus don't tend to have excess they can store. Similarly, considering it's possible to build at least SOME muscle just by repetitive movement without any excess weight, I'd bet that while they probably don't tend to lift amounts that would let them "feel the burn", just by moving large weights around likely does the same thing as doing arm curls with an empty hand does for you, but on a larger scale. The more weight you lift, the greater the benefit, but you don't technically *need* to push yourself to build, only if you want yo build a lot quickly.

Stupid mobile not having a way to do line breaks... Anyway, as I was GOING to continue to say, I think cardboard is a better analogue than foam or cotton candy. Things would still feel rigid and solid, but fragile because if you're not incredibly gentle it'll break. Think of it more like eggshell or thin particle board, it's solid, and rigid, and can take a surprising amount of abuse in the right context, but if you're not careful and you apply too much force, or hit it from the wrong angle, it'll just shatter. Brittle things, not moldable things.

Since Maxima can adjust her strength to any degree—normal to superhuman—I don't see why she couldn't lower it down to standard levels and toss the bar around. For supers like Hiro, I imagine you find denser/heavier materials to lift: tungsten or (hilariously in Maxima's case) gold. Supers in the Grrl Universe also seem to have a crazily efficient metabolism, so, they'd probably have to eat a ton to even think about gaining any body weight.

I've wondered what someone that strong does to keep fit. What counts as "strength training" for someone with super strength? Why aren't Maxima and Superman chubby blobs?

Thinking about Maxima got me wondering, does being super strong and tough mess with tactile sensations. I mean does everything feel like cotton candy or foam. I mean they clearly have sufficient control and feedback to not destroy everything, but does everything just feel fragile all the time? That sounds terrible.
