🕑 Added 2025-12-16 12:34:41 +0000 UTCPatreon has started to use AI as a form of moderation to help protect against pornography, and it’s clearly CLEARLY not working. Yesterday‘s post was taken down because there was a picture of me in a towel??? I’m not sure what about that Triggered the AI, but it is very alarming.
I was part of a roundtable a few days ago with Patreon, and they assured me the type of content I create is totally acceptable on the platform. Patreon accepts full nudity, and animated pornography, but not hyper realistic, or real pornography. The lines they draw between those are pretty dubious, but it was the clear to me that I don’t fall into the pornography category.
All that said, it’s clear that they’re stupid AI systems are fucking everything up, and if one of my post gets flagged, it takes 2 to 3 days to show back up. I’ll be trying to keep a better eye on this in the future so that if a post gets taken down, I can post something else. I don’t like not having content up every day if I can help it, so having posts come down without me noticing is very annoying.
Anyway, if you’re wondering why sometimes you’ll see a post and then it disappears, that’s why.

It's terrible that happened. The post message was so great - it really showed your love of your craft and how that particular time helped drive you forward. Hopefully it can be returned soon and help them realize AI is not perfect for moderating.
