No Internet--California is Burning
🕑 Added 2018-11-10 16:57:55 +0000 UTC It's that time of year again when the dry coastal hills of California catch fire and fill the air with smoke. I live in Oxnard, Ventura which is one city over from Malibu and Thousand Oaks. You may have heard of Thousand Oaks in the news because of the deadly mass shooting there a few days ago. Malibu is currently on fire and we had a massive fire in Ventura last year.The fire and high winds have knocked out the internet to most of Oxnard. I can't even get cellphone data. I'm writing this from a Starbucks in a different part of town. It's still really dry and windy so who knows if the power will stay up. The weather is wonderful here ninety percent of the time, so its not really meant to withstand much in terms of natural diasters.
So this is just a heads up that updates might be sparse or late this week. I've been trying to stick to Monday- and Friday deadlines for new files, but there's just a lot going on here lately.
