Nope! This main menu wasn’t designed with the family thumbnail in mind, but some people wanted a quick preview, so I made it toggleable. Hence the visuals aren’t polished.

Okay I found out my mistake, I had both the Homeview mod AND the DefaultMainMenu_NoAds.package at the same time. I turned that mod off and now i can see the Homeview mod! :]

This Mod doesn't show up for me for some reason. I don't have much mods in my game so I wouldn't know what could possibly be conflicting

Hey! Homeview main menu is working fine with game version 1.118. The latest patch didn’t affect main menu overrides, so no update is needed. If you’re running into issues, it’s not related to this mod.

Hello, after today’s patch, the Refreshed Main Menu – Homeview override is causing a UI crash at the main menu. Removing the file fixes it. Could you please update it for game version 1.118.242.1030? I can share logs if helpful. Thanks!

Hi! This is my first time using one of your overrides, and I think I did something wrong. I tried loading into my game with the Homeview loading screen installed and my loading screen was just black. Do I need to also have the refreshed main menu installed in order for this one to work? Also, I should let you know that I haven't updated my game yet. That could be causing an issue as well.

Hey! I don’t know why you’re getting a white screen, that’s not a known issue with the mod, so I can’t really help with it. As for the glitch when resizing the window, that’s a known timing issue with the animations. I’m aware of it, but since it’s not game-breaking, it hasn’t been fixed (at least for now).

Hi! This main menu override is beautiful! However, when opening my game in full screen it is white unless I do something like Ctrl+Alt+Delete to "exit" and go back into the game. Also, when I change my game to windowed or windowed full screen, half of the main menu turns black with just the clouds showing up and a little flash of a car. It's like it scooted too far to the left almost, and I can see the "edges" that we're not supposed to. Is there a specific way to install this file that I may have messed up? I'm not sure what else could be wrong. Thank you!

Originally, this menu was designed without a family picture, since it was meant to be hidden permanently. But some players wanted it back, so based on feedback I made it optional. If the family picture feels too small, you can enable it and then hover over the family button. After a short moment, a slider will appear that lets you adjust the picture size. Quality-wise, this is already the highest resolution the game allows, so I can’t make it any sharper or better.

I just tested this out, and it's working well. But the family picture doesn't work at all with that background. It's too small and looks like they are floating in the air. And the graphic quality doesn't really match either. Personally, though, I was never a fan of the idea of having the family picture on the main menu anyway. I have over 200 sims. And I don't even know how many households. I might play any family on any given game. The last family I played is largely irrelevant. So, I just hit the button to not show it. And then the menu looks great. I like the buttons for turning the family picture and the ads on and off. That makes things very simple. But for people who like the family picture, work needs to be done to make it look better with this background. Either change their size and position to make them look like they are standing in the room or maybe do something like having them in a picture on the wall or something.

Would it be possible to get the family size adjust on this one + the higher quality family image? Loooove this menu but I also like seeing my family, while yes, I can turn them on and see them, they're small and floating on top of the menu, I think with the adjustment bringing them forward could look like they're actually in the room.

Would it be possible to make this (and similar main menu overrides) compatible with mods that make the family on the screen bigger? I'm not sure of the limitations of something like this, but I love having my sims family on screen but it looks a little silly to me with how small they are 😭😭

It really depends on how fast or slow your computer is. Since Simmers use a wide range of setups, I recommend testing the mod and judging for yourself if performance is affected.

Hey! You probably didn't do anything wrong. I need to update the mod and make sure the speed it unified across different setups. I'm pretty sure it's related to the current FPS.

I am not sure if there is something I did wrong on my part, but I am having an issue where the cars and clouds move much faster than they're supposed to. Otherwise, everything works perfectly, it's just a little jarring to see lmao :p Do you know what the potential problem could be?

The time of day changes on this menu have been making me so happy every day I've played since installing the mod :D feels like wizardry. Is there any chance you'd make a version with different toggleable backgrounds, like on the one with stills, but including (or only) your dynamic ones? I don't know if that's technically possible but it would be pretty cool. Right now I'm periodically swapping them out :)

Unfortunately, due to the limitations of modding, any resolution change that happens while the main menu is open will break the visuals.

hi, i'm not sure if this is a me issue, but when I open up the sims, I move my game to a different, bigger monitor to play. but with this specific loading screen, it cuts in half when I switch from fullscreen to windowed, and half of it is the loading screen while the other half is black. the car still drives all the way through the screen, but the main menu is essentially "squished." If there's any way to fix this I would appreciate it.

Hey! Do you play in windowed mode?This is one of the limitations of modding. It happens when you resize the game’s window while you’re in the main menu. It’s just a visual glitch and won’t affect anything or cause your game to break! :)

Hey! Yep, my loading screens are mostly up to date. Long story short: while there might be minor visual glitches in some VERY rare or very specific cases, they should still work just fine for you. They won’t interfere with your game loading or running properly.

1. Make sure your mods are enabled. 2. Make sure you have no other main menu mods — no custom backgrounds, no tweaks or fixes (including my own, like the No Ads mod).

Hey, if you mean the Refreshed Opening (intro and splash screen override), it should work just fine. There’s no connection between these two mods.

Hey! I’m sorry about that. The original idea was to hide the family completely, but then I decided I wanted players to be able to toggle it with the F key — and I totally forgot to actually add that to the mod! I just fixed it, so please re-download the file. It should work now! :)
