Test - 60fps upscale AI

Caius Cosades

Watching the Dva Dance, the difference was quite noticable and was a nice improvement. The other two animations, I couldn't really tell any significant difference. What the others are saying in terms of drastic movements seems to make sense.

In general higher frame rates are only needed when there is a lot of high speed action (explosions, car chases, etc.). I'm not sure you'll see enough benefit to justify the additional resources.

Rule of thumb, Always make the best quality your gear can provide. It's possible that if you make 4K vids, you'll experience more crashes(usually due to lack of RAM) But If using AI to enhance afterward is a way for you to get better quality vids out, Go for it! If it does a good job, you could even render lower quality, and enhance it afterward. But AI has it's limitations, and you'll have some garbled zone in detailed areas. And sometimes, those details are important.

I'd be intrerested in that video if you find the link! Cause to render in 60 fps it's a different matter from upscaling..

You are right! It was hard to catch!

I could see some slight color change in the first 2, but other than that, not much. Could be good for the color improvement.

On a side note just recently saw a video from animator that was complaining about popular obsession of high fps, and why they don't do it in animation.

The first one is pretty slow and there is no big difference actually. But the Samus one is very improved imho, and d.va dance is something in the middle.

I was watching on my phone so it was original > close >upgraded and the it was OK. Like the image is smoother, yes, but the animation is not something fast pace that need the high fps. So base cinematic fps is good.
