Here's an early upload just for my patrons <3 This short video is not going live until Monday 3/17.
I wanted this video to be longer with more details but editing is eating up my time! Enjoy and we'll be back to long format content in May.
Happy Women's History Month!

I didn’t know that about Toni Morrison! Makes me feel a little better about my unfinished manuscripts 😅. Thanks for the great videos❤️

I needed this! 🥰 43 y/o, "magnet kid" xennial, born and raised in the stroke belt. I've lived with the added stigma and transgressions of being an unwed teen mom. Honestly, I just kept going. I wasn't, nor am I perfect but I did a lot of work. And I still have goals that are in reach. All of that to say, I'm in a really good place and have been for several years now. Funny thing about being a teen mom, as well as having subsequent children, is that my kids are adults now. My last is about to graduate from high school. I'm fortunate in the relationship department and about to get married in May. So yeah, I'm looking forward to having an empty nest or at least not being solely responsible for the comings and goings of any child of mine. 😉 As an xennial, I'm still a dreamer though, and still trying to work the system in order to get out of it 🙃. IYKYK I want to stay healthy and feed my family and community from my yard. But I also wanna have fun! 😁

I am 48 and am NOT aging gracefully. Which is disappointing, because I fully expected to be on my second tramp phase at this age. Now that my children are grown and I don't have any grandbabies yet. I have a lot of medical problems, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor when I was 34 and it's been downhill ever since. Which is frustrating, but it is what it is. And I think that the Auntie thing is only accepted by older folks. I was adopted as an infant by my grandmother, her parents were born free but her grandparents were enslaved. So I was raised by an older generation than my peers so it doesn't bother me to be called auntie, as long as it's not a stranger. Everyone's kids call me auntie because I'm old school and you don't call grown folks by their name. My son calls all my friends and the cousins that are my age auntie and uncle as well. He transferred from public school to a very progressive charter school when he was in the 7th grade, and all the teachers went by their first names, even the principal. I damn near lost my mind! LOL. So I made my son add a Mr or Ms at the beginning.

Hi! I soooo enjoyed this video. Thank you Lex for this love letter to us. I’m 35 and I related to everything in this video. I’m going through a rebirth myself and finally focusing on me and living my best life. My mommy and nephew passed away 6 months apart, 4 years ago this year. Their deaths really affected me but through therapy and finding my community, I’m taking one step and one day at a time to be the vivacious black woman I am. I can’t wait to see what my future holds. 🩷🩷🩷
