He Bought This French Watch From eBay For His Wife, Now I'm Restoring It
🕑 Added 2024-11-13 17:18:46 +0000 UTCMarshall restores another vintage watch, this time it's a ladies watch from an iconic French brand called Lip. It was started in the 1870s, and even though the company has seen many ups and downs, it's still around today! This particular watch was purchased by a friend of Marshall's who got it for his wife. Marshall takes the time to make sure it's in tip top shape before it gets handed off to the owner!

I would recommend the parts baskets. I have a few and they were not expensive on eBay. When using an ultrasonic cleaner, the parts that are being cleaned need to be above the bottom of the ultrasonic for best results.

I sort of remember the metal flexible bracelet as the “Twist-o-Flex” from ads in the 1970’s. I do not remember the watch brand though. Yep I have waged brain cells keeping that stored away🤓

Great video! Quick question -- if I use an ultrasonic cleaner to clean watch parts, am I correct in assuming I'll need to source the small baskets to put the small parts in before putting everything in the ultrasonic anyway? (I'm about to attempt my first cleaning and oiling...)
