Restoring a $2000 Omega Seamaster That Hasn't Run in 30 Years!
🕑 Added 2025-08-24 22:16:47 +0000 UTCMarshall restores another vintage watch, this time it's a charming Omega Seamaster that hasn't ran in 30 years! This watch was owned by the grandfather, passed to his daughter, who then passed it along to her son. The owner wants to get it running so he can enjoy it and possibly pass it down to his child as well. This one throws Marshall a curve ball as well when it turns out to have radioactive hands and dial!

How can you tell if the balance jewel needs to be cleaned and grease replaced? Is it just a case of doing it regardless if it’s this old? Would you replace it on a watch 10 years old or less if it hasn’t been serviced?

I have a 1980’s vintage Rolex Date just that desperately needs a service. It is running, but I know it hasn’t been serviced in years.
