She is so comforting, it’s relieving to see that many of the greats we look up to can not want to be in the business of fashion, and that delineation can be hard to define. I went to one of the best business schools in the US and I’m grateful for the skills I got but I crave to just be a creative. It’s nice to know that I don’t have to generate revenue, I can just work my full time job and create on the side — and maybe one day I can open up a little shop just to be grateful I was able to see something of my own creation. Thank you for the interview, Bliss!

Honestly can't help but keep getting back to this interview every now and then, its truly one of the most insightful pieces of media I've ever consumed, not only when it comes to fashion, but just life overall, the way she's self-aware when speaking about life, is so nice, she's so nuanced in it and in optimism and pessimism she has about the world, she's truthful to herself and creativity, and that's an indicator of hunger, she's still palpable in changing her beliefs and thoughts which allows for an expansion in her designs.

While so many designers feel almost apart/unapproachable from the perspective of a young person, it was really inspiring to hear someone in Marina’s position be as humble and grounded as she is. From her apprehensiveness about showing her creations to her insecurities about the future it was really refreshing to see that people that I look up to are at a fundamental level the same as I am.

Funny how so many designers have an anti fashion aesthetic for themselves. Not all of course. I find myself more drawn to the designer who is more interested in their own style and aesthetic. Like self promotion of one’s own designs. I’ve never really given into the whole anti fashion aspect of fashion. I find it a bit pedantic in the fact so much thought is given to showing a lack of concern for the details of fashion and in the same time thought is given to their over all personal look. I want to look like I don’t care- so I picked these garments to show my lack of interest. Uhmmm wait a minute. LOL 😝 Then there’s those who truly don’t care and you wouldn’t want to share an elevator with them. Some stars have taken such drastic measures. This interview was great, but then you have an arch from where you began to now. It’s always a pleasure to watch your interviews. I love your interest in fabric and construction choices. You have a great talent for making your guest feel at ease enough to relax into the interview and get something that other interviewers wouldn’t. Always a pleasure- keep up the great work. 🫶
