A Question for Roll20 Users.
🕑 Added 2019-08-10 01:43:50 +0000 UTCSo, I've recently read that, despite the fact that Roll20 uses a 70x70 pixel grid size, they recommend making maps at a 140x140 pixel size. I'm not 100% clear on why this is, but since I've never had anyone complain about my Roll20 maps being 70x70px, I thought I'd ask your opinions on the matter before making any changes.

Okay, good to know. All my maps are 5 feet per tile, even though I don't always put in a scale. I can see using Finbarr's Marsh at 10, though. Is there a certain size at which the load time is just negligible? Like, would there be a difference in load time between a 1MB file and a 2MB file?

I think it depends on what scale you are making the maps... I am using Finbarrs Marsh at a 10ft grid size, so a 140x140 pixel version would actually be right at roll20's recommendation. At the same time, I'm cropping the different major buildings into their own maps with all the levels on one roll20 page, since it's really the page changes that take a long time to load
