A Vote Pertaining to the Results of Another Vote
🕑 Added 2020-07-04 15:50:06 +0000 UTCSo, we're finally getting back to the Great Vote, which some of you may not be familiar with. About a year ago, a series of votes were held to determine the next 10 non-Brazenthrone maps I'd draw would be. Currently, only four are finished.
If you're wondering why that is, here are the reasons, from biggest to smallest.
- 1) Brazenthrone
- 2) Brazenthrone (this deserves two)
- 3) Brazenthrone (make it three)
- 4) Mont-Saint-Michel (which was one of the 10)
- 5) Cartographic Congress maps once a month.
Anyway, Mont-St-Michel's debt to Brazenthrone is paid off and I'll be doing another Great Vote map soon. But I'm not sure which to do first. Making decisions is hard, so I figured I'd just get you to do it for me. Er, *AHEM,* I mean, allow you to choose which one you'd like next. Yes, that is the sentence I meant to say.
So, what'll it be?
- Greenskin Rock – One or two sea stacks with a goblin or kobold community living in tunnels inside.
- The Great Garden – A huge, elaborate garden and ponds tended by druids or elves, with a huge, sacred tree. Might be walled.

Apparently the design of Minas Tirith was based on Mont-St-Michel! And you'll be getting the Great Garden one way or another, this is just about which one comes first.

Super excited for the Great Garden if that ends up winning. One of the campaigns I run is set in Exandria -- same setting as the Critical Role streamed D&D show. In that world, there is a ringed holy city-state which is home to the centers of worship for many of the world's prime deities. Since you'd announced you'd be doing it, I've been planning to use your Mont Saint-Michel as the center of that city (which isn't described in great detail, but is a ringed city with a center mount - like Minas Tirith in my imagination). Now, by huge coincidence, one of the other really pivotal places in that city is the center of worship for Melora -- the nature domain goddess. That area is basically exactly what you describe as the Great Garden. Though it's located within the city's outer walls, its a lush garden with an enormous tree at its center. So, super stoked to use those two together as centerpieces for my third act. Keep up the awesome work!! Always stoked to see what you come up with.
