Note: 7z files require 7zip: https://www.7-zip.org/ to open, I highly recommend this as it adds better zip management, and handles way more file types, including the img.gz that pUsing the 7z link to get your image will make the image zip which is 2.9 GB download, into a smaller 7z that is a 2.4 GB downloadi foundation uses regularly.

This is where you can directly file issues you hit, suggestions, feature requests and such and then track the progress on them.
Ok...so...what's new? So much!
The biggest things you'll notice are a massive increase in performance and lower memory usage. The other one is the 'playlist editor' which is the start of a feature that many have been asking for for months (The ability to denote the order files play in, and save that off as a named playlist).
For now, the playlist editor achieves 3 main requests
- The ability to play a certain file 'right now'
- the ability to delete a file from a playlist. Please note this deletes the actual file...we're working on a 'disable' toggle as well in the future
- You can now visually see thumbnails of the images that the engine is working through. Adding EXIF data editing and such can now be built right on top of this UI in a very consistent fashion, as well as 'add image to playlist' type functionality.
Settings were overhauled, and now instead of a different code path per setting, we have one very clever one that Lou devised which should make functionality much more consistent.
Another major change that is now a platform we can build on is the 'clock'. A clock element can now be added and placed wherever you want...upper left corner? no problem. You can still edit the font, size, colors and such. This means you can have a clock AND have the exif data at the bottom for instance. This is also a major change for us in the backend which will allow for us to have users place things wherever they'd like, and as many as they like. Want the time at the top and date at the bottom? Or maybe the author in the upper left? That's the direction we're heading there.
There were a bunch of infrastructure improvements to help us build on the next feature set, but we also spent alot of time the past few months learning and researching how to properly and reliably do things like provide a way to set the password, or to improve the ability to set up wifi. That work will come into play in the next few months to help improve the setup experience. We also see the requests to make the frames 'portable' so that they can easily change between two locations, one of which may not have wifi..or have a different wifi, and we'll get that figured out.
As always, thankyou a ton for your support. We're working hard to listen, to grow, to improve. We're really excited for this release, and for what it will allow us to do in the next few months!

- Video thumbnails not yet implemented
- SciFi theme not yet updated
- UI elements still need tweaks for playlist editor

Yes right now the infobar can display Title, Author, and I believe "Subject". It's VERY limited right now, but that's what this month is all about. My goal is to make it so we have the ability to add quite a few items to the screen, to be able to arrange them how you want, with what fonts you'd like, etc. But also each one could be any of a number of options (which should be easy to add more). That's the goal and what we're working hard on this month! For now though the infobar I belive is aauthor, title, subject.

We're so glad to hear it! Lou did a TON of work in that area, and honestly we really really needed it. We were starting to top out what we could do on the pi unless we found some 'headroom' and the fixes this month definitely gave us what we needed! Also any improvements just help all around. Glad to see it's noticable!
Awesome, Dynaframe is working great! One question I have concerns the Infobar Setting / Image Info field? I assume this is an EXIF field? Which one?
For the record, the performance improvements are FANTASTIC! I have a playlist with over 5000 pictures, and it used to push the CPU usage of the Dynaframe process to be constantly over 55%. With the December release and the same playlist, it remains below 20%.
