Glaver's Camp (Work-in-Progress)
🕑 Added 2023-04-28 14:39:12 +0000 UTCGlaver's Camp is the location of one of the mercenary regiments in Tir Thelandira. Glaver's Regiment is tasked with guarding the Dhasran mining colony, while the other regiment, the Blackboots, is closer to the forest to protect the Dhasran loggers.
I haven't figured out everything about these two groups, but I can tell you a few things:
- Glaver's Regiment are highly professional, organized soldiers. Their camp is designed similar to a Roman legionary camp.
- The Blackboots are a cavalry regiment composed entirely of scumbags. Their camp is going to be absolutely filthy.
- The two regiments absolutely hate each other for reasons I haven't worked out yet. If you have any ideas, by all means let me know.
I've got this halfway colored, so it shouldn't be too much longer. Anyway, back to work!

Yeah, that's definitely going to be a part of it. Glaver's Regiment would see them as unprofessional thugs who are unworthy of respect. But I want to work in something to make it personal as well. Thanks for the suggestion!

YEAH! Glaver's Regiment would definitely have something like an eagle standard and losing it would definitely make them enraged. I think the Blackboots would have just destroyed it rather than keep it, though. If they still had it, the two wouldn't be able to be near each other without fighting. But maybe the Blackboots actually do have it and Glaver's Regiment doesn't know? There are a lot of ways to go with this idea, but I can tell you I'll absolutely be using it. Thank you!

I like the straightforward idea that the Glavers just hate that the Blackboots are scumbags who do stuff like loot burn things they weren't hired to do.

My idea for why the two groups hate each other is that in a different conflict 60-70 years ago they were hired by different sides and the unit on the winning side took the prized standard (I’m thinking Roman eagle style thing) of the unit on the loosing side as a war trophy. The standard is still kept by the winning unit to this day and is a point of contention.
