Alverfjord - Low Tide Version
🕑 Added 2025-02-06 19:18:14 +0000 UTCHere's the low tide version of Alverfjord. There are a few recessed areas that stay submerged, but most of it goes dry.
Next, I'm going to draw a map called the Impossible Vault. It's a dwarven vault that was meant to be impenetrable. I've been thinking about how to design this place for a while now and... look, this thing is going to be straight up evil. The traps are infuriating, there's a decoy puzzle room that doesn't unlock anything no matter how you rearrange things, and the treasure itself isn't actually in the vault at the end. It's behind a secret door, which is located in the last place you'd want to search for one.
It'll be a small map because, frankly, there's a limit to how much of this you should subject your party to. I think you'll like it, though.

It's complicated. So there are golems that wake up when the party enters a room. When the golems move away from the wall, they trigger a mechanism that releases poisonous gas, which flows out of a vent behind the golems. This gas keeps coming even after the fight is over, so the party will very likely try to cover the vents as soon as possible. The secret door is behind the vents.

“which is located in the last place you'd want to search for one.” Hidden door in the bottom of the cesspit?
