Dev Diary 39

Currently, we sit at 2,631 statics, 92 (the final count) animations, and 62,369 words total for update 3.4
That last one is a new metric we'll be including in these reports going forward. A fellow dev (Story Anon, who is the author of the wonderful VN Out of Touch) showed me how to easily calculate it with the ren'py SDK. For reference, the project's total word count is 375,122 words -- a number that I'm wholly ambivalent about.
I can comfortably say that we will hit our revised target of an early June release date and that within the next three or four days, GIL will be putting a bow on the picture side of things. Once that happens, we'll post the exact date for early release and then immediately hand it off to our testing & proofing team.
Plans are already underway for the next update and I think after the wall-to-wall debauchery of this one, the next one will be on a more intimate and self-contained scale. I'll speak more to that once we actually get the present update behind us.
I know I end every post with this, but GIL and I both appreciate your support, and we hope we won't ever betray your patience. You guys not only make this thing happen, but you make it an enriching experience as well.
