Currently, we sit at 1867 static images (+277 since last diary), 63 animations (+23), and 51,654 words (+8,539), rounding the corner to putting a bow on this update.
As you can probably guess from above, we have decided to shift Veronica’s personal content into the next update. There’s probably no surprise there, judging by our last developer diary. I am frustrated that this has become a definite trend, but we feel it’s better to get an update out sooner rather than feel rushed for what will likely be key to her character arc as it pertains to the player character.
I am hoping the next update cycle will show a marked improvement in terms of project / content planning, and I suspect it might, given how smoothly our more time-conscious approach to Mina’s portion of the update went while still putting out a scene that lives up to our standards. If I can start the update with that mindset, instead of just going ham like I usually do, I think we might be back to multi-day updates that move the story’s trajectory along at a more satisfying pace.
With that out of the way, I can safely say this update is no slouch when it comes to raw numbers and the amount of work we put in. You won’t be disappointed by the content, and GIL as he tends to do, improves every day and puts out his best work - so please don’t misconstrue our internal dissatisfaction over the pace of the project as an indictment on the update itself. We are extremely proud of these scenes and are confident they will meet your satisfaction.
If there are no catastrophes or major blunders, we will wrap up the production side before the end of the month. Out of interest for your financial consideration, expect a release schedule for you before the month rolls over, but without a doubt, it will be an April release.

I wouldn't read too much into it. I keep multiple back ups that are updated daily, and with GIL also keeping a working copy that he adds to daily, either one of us are only ever at the risk of losing an evening's worth of work. I was just making it sound tentative, in case anything major pops up in life. The blunder would be me misreading the amount of work we can complete over the next 11 days, but that is unlikely with how close we are.

On a serious note you've proven you're taking this seriously and want the best for both yourself and us, so take your time. A couple of weeks later to release content for a greater character/plot development is always worth it. Having the feeling your rushing content would make me feel less considered for the financial support :p

>If there are no catastrophes or major blunders What are these catastrophes or major blunders? I'm assuming it's personal health related, but you mentioned "blunders". I hope it's not "we lost our computer with all our work". I've seen that from so many devs. I hope you use version control.

She'll still get a fair shake this update. The club portion is fairly large and has multi-branching scenes involving her, but that's probably not the kind of screen time you were hoping. I myself never think of "club time" as the any one girls content.

Totally agree with being a bit disappointed with no Veronica in this update, but still looking forward to playing the game.

A bit bummed there won't be more Veronica this update. But this game is just so good that I can't really be mad. You guys do awesome work :)
