Shadowspan Debris
In the vast cosmos of Escalia, there exists a realm that defies all conventional understanding - the Shadowspan. This is not a plane in the traditional sense, but rather a tangled skein of semi-dimensions, interwoven and inseparable, forming a space that exists between all other spaces. Dark cavernous expanses that seem like hollows are in fact part of 'islands', drifting landmasses suspended in an ether of swirling gases and nebulous clouds.
The Shadowspan, also known as the Limbus or Tempus, serves as a membrane separating the myriad dimensions. To cross this membrane is to find oneself on the other side, in a realm of empty space where debris from other planes float aimlessly. These range from landmasses the size of subcontinents to dust-sized remnants, all torn violently from their original dimensions, yet lacking the force to fully transition into another.
The Shadowspan is a realm of its own rules and dangers. It is a place where time and distance are not as they seem, where anomalies are the norm. It is a realm of breathtaking beauty, yet it is always perilous. This is a place where the lost fragments of countless worlds drift aimlessly, a testament to the violent forces that ripped them from their homes. It is a place of wonder and terror, a testament to the unfathomable complexity of the cosmos. It is the Shadowspan, the realm between realms, the space between spaces.

Health Warning for Users with Epilepsy
When using animated Beneos Battlemaps, it's important to be aware of potential health risks, especially for individuals who are susceptible to photosensitive epilepsy. Some of our maps contain elements that could potentially trigger seizures for people with photosensitive epilepsy. For instance, lightning effects from storm animations on certain maps simulate strobe-like flashes which could act as a trigger. If you or anyone in your gaming group has a history of epilepsy or seizures, please consult a medical professional before using these animated maps. Additionally, users should take breaks regularly while playing, play in a well-lit room, and avoid playing if they are feeling fatigued or have had little sleep, as this can increase the risk of a seizure.

Thank you for this....I love the style of your work (dark and gritty) and every time I come looking for a map, I usually find two or three that I want to use. Keep up the great work!

Hey James, I know what you mean. The playable area and the debris in the scenery are all high quality (Nanite) high poly meshes. When releasing so many different environments I have to work efficiently, that means not spending so much time on environments that are not part of the actual playable area (skymap) and putting more into the actual content. This area can be seen exclusively in the intro, which we include as a bonus with the release as of late. I agree with you that it wasn't so smart to show the skymap so close, but I found the light interaction so nice ^^ I will keep that in mind in the future

Maybe it's just me.. The second scene in the video above seemed a bit too.. Descent 2, 2003. The textures in that scene were a bit plain, and I expect WAY more debris in an asteroid field. All of the other scenes came off as nice, but that second one really hit me as being not exactly Beneos quality, ;)
