Very jealous that you got to ride the W2s in service! I saw one of the scrubber cars once - must have been about 2000/2001, pretty close to when they were withdrawn, it's a very vague memory but I think was somewhere around the Port Junction area. Maybe we could sell the C2s to Boeing when we're done with them haha

Yep Adelaide video is still coming, it's just going to take me a while to finish it off, but I do hope to get it done over the next few months!

Ah that's very interesting! Wouldn't surprise me at all if it's a European requirement and they just didn't change the design here.

I really liked this video. I learned a lot about the trams. I am not sure about the top light for the D-class, however trains in Europe, or at least most countries, require a light triangle in the front. So pretty much two lights at the bottom and one top one. And after extensive research (looking through a few tram models and networks on wikipedia for the last 30 mins) I believe it is either a German/Austrian requirement as this is a rail vehicle to have this triangle or it is to actually light up pionts better. At least when I lived in Austria (Vienna), it could look like the top one was placed so that it lights up just infront of the tram. Or it might just be that they have used that to light up just in front, simply because it was there. In Trondheim, where I have worked, there is actually a light just under the bumper just to light up the points, but I believe it is not a requirement in Norway to have the triangle for trams.

Excellent, I'm a fan of both channels. Edit after watching: A really good video, thank you both. My own experience as a regular tram user was from 1984 (aged 13) to 1995 (before I moved to NSW). I could easily rate the trams I rode, from the last of the W2s to the 'new' B2s, with all the W series variations, the various Zs and the 'Bricks' as I called the As in between. The most exciting trams that I rarely saw and never rode, were the two ex-Sydney scrubber cars. 1908-built trams were something to see 80 years later. I missed the corporatisation then the privatisation, and occasionally rode the newer 'plastic caterpillars' in recent years. My back still hurts after the occasional C1 ride. I was blown away when I visited Budapest in 2018, and saw what looked like a yellow D2 approach. It turned out to be a monster six-section tram, 54 metres long as compared to the 30 metre long D2. I still think articulated trams should make accordion sounds as they go round curves! The sealed C2 door must be a Boeing feature! Anyway, enough of my lame jokes! Thanks for the top view!
