Simon Bérubé

Giving plenty of riches and luxury to the lucky so that they stay to be drained of their luck and killing the ones with no luck because they're useless to him. Quite a ruthless trap of a city.

TYFTC

Diplodicus

I agree, it feels kinda random for him to go "soul-searching" here. Especially since his thought process is usually thoroughly explained

Gardor

Maybe give an in story reason for why he decided to go sit in an empty alley and fully submerge himself in his soul? It's literally "I moved away from the guard, who didn't mention anything soul related, and then immediately knew what to do to see the scary dragon".

Gio

I'm guessing it's something more along the lines of: - The immortal can benefit from anyone with luck 10 or above being in his city - The immortal suffers bad side effects if anyone with luck below 10 is in his city (they reverse siphon luck) - The immortal suffers REALLY BAD side effects if anyone with luck of 1 is in his city Remember, the immortal ghost said that there is a heavy price to pay for immortals that mess with fate. The price is probably something in the form of "if someone with 1 luck gets in his city, he's in big trouble"

Maniac000

Unless she becomes an Immortal herself don’t think she has a choice. I imagine the distance between peak Nascent Soul and Immortal is a giant chasm. She could try to kill him during the tribulation though, but no telling if there would be consequences for the Sect. And if the Immortal really is the Old Goat she risks angering Feng by going after him.

Gio

True, but will Song Song accept being a subordinate of anyone?

Irakli Jishkariani

Good theory

Robothaus

I have a theory that luck isn't stolen so much as it is expended and then caught, if the city was just a honey pot they would try harder to keep people in and make sure everything is good but the wealth gradient seems perfect spread out from jackpot to sudden death and everything in between, I think the dragon can collect luck after people use it so it puts them in situations where they can be lucky, the kids that have to live in rags vs the unqualified people who get cushy jobs creates contrast between results cause if there was no consequences for failure then success isn't actually lucky, the reason they killed that guy who rolled a one was to make everyone else lucky for not rolling that low whatever the gimmick is it's not just about rewarding lucky people its also enforcing the average people to have an average time and the unlucky ones to have a bad time because luck must only be active if there are actual risks involved it has to matter and the way to maximize that is to create a system where something as arbitrary as rolling dice has tangible results the less control people have over things that impact them the more luck needs to be exercised into an exited state in which it can be acted upon by the dragon's technique

NonuvfOorbiz

Given the name I would say he is either the sect leader's son or father or brother.

Undead Writer

Thanks for the chapter!

Maniac000

I’m thinking the Blazing Sun Immortal is like a Constitutional Monarch of sorts. He gave up his political power like every other Immortal seems to do and hides away preparing for the next tribulation. But if things go to shit he probably comes out of hiding to protect the sect.

Krzychu0304

Is it just me that thinks the old goat is immortal?

Maniac000

Oooh the Immortal of Goldwatch being a dragon makes sense given how they love their piles of treasure.

Gio

Is the sect leader actually the sect leader if the Blazing Sun Sect immortal is still around?

Green0Photon

Oh yeah, I forgot

Myrdin

I have to admit, I don’t like this political plot line to make Song Song the sect leader. I hope that Liu Feng uses that soul technique in the sect. I wonder if the janitor turns out to be some kind of immortal.

Jack Trowell

He got an average roll because all people who went to the other immortal tomb got their luck made neutral for the trials and they still didn't get back to normal

Green0Photon

So I guess the Immortal steals and cultivates luck. Probably to survive the Heavens throwing their shit at them. We can only hope it's not permanent? Our boy Liu Feng has been pretty lucky... What if his lower roll was because his luck got stolen. Permanently.

Bunny Waffles

Nah, Song Song is also an absolute psycho, but our boi 's presence and advice helps make her more reasonable. At least as long as he is nearby.

Hugo Nuef

Thanks for the chapter!
