Undead Writer

Thanks for the chapter!

Straven

Hell yeah! Damn I'm giddy with excitement after reading that!

marlassett

Yeaaaaah! Started from the bottom now we here! So thankful this breakthrough happened and with this interesting character as a witness.

glare31337

Very excited to see Liu Feng finally step into Qi Gathering, if only for his qi control and talent for techniques to start to shine (and we're seeing it already!)

Traellium

Resubbed just to be met with another cliff, damn.

Hello, I just joined and read your story, so thank you very much Mouse. Now looking back the Libary Owl might have been affected by the beast king too. I feel bad for Mao Shaoqi it looks like he was set up by the inner sect backstabbers. Hell, if these two clans are mentioned at the start when the tournament caused a blood feud I wonder if the outer sect elder was paid to make sure it happened. After all long-term plot is a theme in this setting. A plan for Song Song's failure here would make a lot of sense. Honestly, I hope Mao Shaoqi beats some common sense into MC. That and MC is a genius in his own right. I really liked how I sometimes feel the original Fang personality bleeding through. I feel it most when MC makes bold moves forward. That said I am really curious how his reincarnation affected everything. That and the cultivation paths of this world. Honestly, I suspect that this world has lost or hidden most of the basic cultivation tech. That once was considered common. The current method feels like training in the body cultivation methods and switching over to the Qi method after reaching the 1st stage. Which would stop lazy Qi method genius from ever becoming a problem.

Pumpkin Escobar

The same thing that turns Earthly billionaires into vengeful, petty tyrants. Power and wealth corrupt.

Tanya field?

Cirex123

If you look very closely at the protagonist, you can see a faint Tanya-field developing

Stephen Pearson

Weirdly, I think it will. I'm getting the impression that Song Song feels bad about what she did to him before she knew better (he may be the first person she seriously hurt, the reaction to which may have taught her to lean into that persona) which is why she sent him her best (Liu Feng) and didn't want to go into the city. Once he finds out the story, I suspect Liu Feng will make her apologize, leading to reconciliation, personal growth and improved mental state for Song Song, and additional support for Song Song from a (relatively minor) power center... directly leading to Liu Feng getting on the radar of those involved in the sort of politics he desperately wants to avoid:-p In 20 chapters or so I'll need to come back to check how close I came...

Stephen Pearson

On the contrary, I'm nearly certain that she not only remembers him but feels bad for hurting - and accidentally humiliating - him, possibly to the point that it was a formative experience. She likely thought, as he did, that she wouldn't hurt him, or at least not so severely, but she was very young at the time. Sending him Liu Feng is sending him her best, and the way she noped out of entering the city implies to me that she is uncomfortable or embarrassed to speak to the governor.

oreganoe

The traitor was Liu Feng all along!?

Matthew Bernardin

Seriously, I always wondered what it was about cultivation that inherently reduces its practicioners to the emotional maturity level of uppity toddlers.

Meiser

Think he’s about to learn how to use a sword?

Hangwind

No, he thinks that Liu will betray Song Song at the first opportunity.

Confused

Oh boy so Liu crossed into the next cultivation realm! And it seems this governor thinks he can use him to get revenge against Song Song. I doubt that'll end well for him really!

BZD

I don’t think it’s naivety, I think it’s just him being old enough to have experienced Xianxia cultivator bs before and he can see the signs of a civil war on the horizon. Of the cultivator clans that make up the cultivators of a city kill each other, then that city is sure to collapse unless someone else comes in and settles thing. Either way, the governor would no longer be in charge.

BZD

Nonono. Come on governor. Liu was nothing but kind to you. Don’t try to ruin his cultivation or something.

PatronTurtle

In what way?

PatronTurtle

The governor seems a bit naive. If the sect benefits from the two clans, it seems extremely likely their absence would cause action to create something similar. They may have even been setup by some cultivators as a way to funel resources

StarBat

I'm sure the Governor for all his assumptions would likely ask some questions to verify his guesses. To assume a monstrous talent and to assume this an attempt to distance Feng from Song Song's self are one way of looking at things, but this man certainly has made a habit of thinking things out. And his success as an administrator seems like he needs to at least ask some questions before committing to a plan.

Treacherous_Usurper

Why is it rage and not righteous anger or a sense of anticipation?

Bunny Waffles

Song Song 100% didn't even remember him, did she?

Benjamin Shklyar

Now, this is interesting. How is our beloved mayor going to use him for his revenge.

maldita

cant wait for feng pov

Bonobo

Thanks for the chapter, loved it!

Isiah Debarros

Free teaching???

DuskDeadman

Damn, Liu Feng is becoming a proper cultivation novel protagonist. Too bad I'm 90% sure our boy is gonna be one of the villains.

Holy Mouse

During editing this chap, I deleted around 1000 words. The most I have ever deleted, lol. Usually, I write in 1st POV, so we get to explore Liu Feng to his deepest core and emotions. Sometimes it might come off as rambling, but that is somewhat within character. Liu Feng thinks a ton. (though I try and keep ramblings at a minimum, and show his knowledge instead of making it an info dump) But when it came to the governor, he was a whole other kind of character. He has his own weird moral compass with these things. Anyway, just wanted to give some background into how I usually do my writing. Hope you liked the chapter!
