In my years of working in settings where there is a lot of “hanging about” by the general public, I’ve seen group violence and incidents that escalate, and subside, very quickly and the only consistent thing I noticed was that there is a certain vibration in the air even before anything is happening. Another day, it could be the same amount of people in the same space configuration but there was no “energy” and everything was fine. Similar to when you can sense a storm coming, even when the weather is nice. People plug into some alternate frequency when they’re in groups, like flocking behaviour, and when you have even a small amount (I’ve calculated even 0.05% in some instances) of the group that’s keyed up, the rest rise to that frequency.

Yes, I have been in a riot (doing riot control). It is terrifying and it is as if a demon has taken over the crowd…it is a sight to behold. I hope I never experience such a tulpa again.
