Thank you for this explanation. It's more useful to know not what people don't like, but why they don't like it. When I was making the first game, I had extremely little time to work on it, which is why it turned out so simple and largely superficial. People loved it, though I'm embarrassed for the overly silly writing, to be honest. So now I'm in the difficult position of having to compromise between the two extremes of UC1 and UC2. Or maybe it's my depression speaking, you can clearly feel it in UC2. But maybe I should really take it easy. I guess we'll see it together with the main character :)

THAT SAID, do what makes you happy. When I played UC1 and 2 I felt like you created these games with heart, pumping in content as YOU felt like it. I don't want UC3 to be different, I want to play YOUR game, after all. Would I be happy if UC3 had more amputee content? Oh yes. But only if it is a theme YOU are interested in too. Again, it is your game, after all. Whatever you feel like putting in the game I'll play.

I liked UC2 a lot, don't get me wrong. I just think UC1 is better because it doesn't take itself too seriously while still being dark sometimes. I prefer dark scenes when they are short and contained: I LOVE that part where Ichi has some some of her fingers broken, for example. But don't get me wrong: I REALLY like darker elements in games like this (I'd even go as far as saying that I prefer non-consensual stuff, though I understand that most games avoid this). Stuff like cannibalism (which I like), amputation (which I love) and torture are great things to have in a game. The thing about UC2 is that I feel like it takes itself a little too seriously. UC1 (and UC3) can be dark while not taking itself too seriously. UC2 focused more of its narrative, and feels a little padded sometimes as a result.

Thanks. For some reason, people don't like the more serious and darker narrative of UC2. So now I'm trying to keep it less dramatic. Yet some choices will punish the player if they're too contradictory.
