Yeah they do use “sire” interchangeably in those two ways. One is referring to the Originals (Klaus, Elijah, Rebecca) vampire bloodline that made someone a vampire, since if the Original dies, their bloodline dies. The other way is the sense of loyalty you feel to the person that made you a vampire and showed you how to live like a vampire. They also say in rare cases with vampires you can have a “sire bond” and be so devoted to them you do whatever they ask (like season 4 with Damon and Elena or like all the hybrids with Klaus).

They established when Bonnie’s mother became a vampire that witches cant be both a vamp and a witch, it’s one or the other. As far as I know, that remains the same. Am I missing something?

I’m so glad The Originals got their own show. The characters and actors were just too good to not have their own story and series.

Side note, I think season 5 of TVD was so campy in part because the creator, Julie Plec, was focused on launching the Originals (season 5 of TVD happens during season 1 of The Originals). In contrast, season 1 of the Originals is so fire 🔥.

I also agree about Marcel making the right choice re Rebekah or vampirism. Klaus was really asking him to choose between him and Rebekah, who’s to say he wouldn’t have killed Marcel if he chose wrong?

RE: New Orleans, yeah, it's got a great vibe. Amazing food, great music, diverse culture, and long-standing traditions. And yes, one of the best party scenes in the US. Though it can get very sloppy with disrespectful tourists. Plenty of fantastic experiences to be had though. Highly recommend a visit.

when they say sired they mean their blood turned them. as in the originals have a sireline that dies when they are killed. the wording is confusing cuz sometimes they use it to refer to doing stuff that benefits the other person
