V0.9 Problems and Beta Release
🕑 Added 2021-06-21 07:16:58 +0000 UTCSorry guys. I wasn't able to get v0.9 finished as I said I would.
I'm a bit bewildered and burnt out at the minute. I worked through the night trying to get it done, but the more work I did the more there seemed to be left to do.
So, I have decided to release a beta version.
Two unfinished scenes have been temporarily removed, and it is lacking polish in some areas (i.e. some of the dialogue is clunky, more images required in places, etc.).

I am suspending my Patreon billing for next month. I'm going to take a short break, figure out what I'm doing wrong and make the necessary changes to make sure I'm not in this situation again.
I will get v0.9 finished and released as soon as possible. And I'll also catch up on the Patreon rewards that I'm behind on.

Bill me, too! It's not much at the moment but that's not the point... It's a honorable intention but not necessary in my perspective. You gave so much fun and enjoyable moments with your art so let us give you something back as a support and a promise for the future! Take care of yourself should be the first in this case and then anything else after a long nothingness in between :-)

Hey DB - It took Bethesda 7 years to get Fallout 4 out. Da Vinci spent 4 years working on the Mona Lisa. And Tolkien struggled for 12 years on The Lord Of The Rings. You're doing just fine. You can't rush high quality stuff and keeping your artistic standards high is what is important. You'll get no pressure from me, only support. I'm always willing to wait for more time with Charlotte! Agree, take a break and do not pause billing. Even with delays you obviously are working hard to get out regular releases. Enjoy some time to decompress looking forward to the improvements the story will have when you come back at it refreshed.

Hi, agreed to not pause billing. Take care of yourself and no pressure on release date. A lot of big software engeneering company are no more successful with release date :-)

I echo what everyone else just said, and I have to admit to having a quiet chuckle because you just ran face-first into the paradox of software development - the more you hurry, the slower you go. Take the time you need. Release dates are nice but don't beat yourself if you miss some. And I agree with Markus above, I won't complain if you don't pause billing.

Don't stress yourself too much over hitting release dates. It might kill the creativity and we need you to be creative and enjoy the writing and posing process.

I'm sorry you ran in to difficulties, DB. I've been in similar situations with executive management breathing down my neck constantly asking, "Is it done yet? Is it done yet?" You have to walk away, rest, regroup, and allow yourself some time to develop creative solutions. I wish you didn't suspend your paycheck. The quality of the story and game is well worth it to me. You can always count on my support. 😊
