Mother Worm

Guys I don't think what I have posted here is gross or actually NSFW (not safe for work/potentially sexual) but it kind of looks like it is NSFW. Kind of. What I have drawn looks quite similar to a particular body part. It is not a drawing of that body part, but at first glance it looks a lot like it.
I have also attached a third picture of a type of maggot on a clean black background- there is no gore or decomposing matter, but don't look if you don't like seeing worms/maggots. I am warning you now just to be safe.

Here's what I've been working on the past couple of days and I think I'm finally ready to move on- the dialog profile picture for the player's bedridden mother when she turns into a worm.
Yah that's a bit to digest so let me break this down so we are all on the same page. The player is a little girl in a village full of dead people. She is the only one alive and at the beginning of the game she is going around playing games with the various dead villagers imagining that they were all still alive.
One of the villagers/characters who you can interact with is the player's mother, who is found "sick" in bed. The image above (2nd image) shows on the top left how the mother looks when walking around in the overworld (she will be in a house, not on the grass like the picture shows), either in the red bed sheets or the blue sheets (It seemed like when I discussed this in the video, the majority favored the red sheets). Then the image on the top right is what you see when you speak to the mother and enter into the dialog state.
When I discussed this in the video, I mentioned that her overworld sprite (the colorful and smaller red or blue one) makes here look like a worm, and a lot of people seemed to like that as an idea. I ran with it and created an overworld sprite of her as a worm/maggot in her red bed (bottom left). What I did recently is draw up her dialog profile pictures as a worm (3 bottom right).
I had a vision for this image, and that was a worm/maggot like creature with a snout and human like mouth/lips at its end. In case you are curious, I was modeling her worm body off of a particular type of maggot called a Black Solider Fly larvae (I've added a picture of one as reference).
As you can see, there are 3 versions of the same worm dialog profile (bottom right). The reason for this is because I was really hoping to use the mother worm dialog profile image as a thumbnail image for the next YouTube video. Unfortunately, when I drew the first iteration (the image with the 1 under it, the 3 are marked in order of when created), it was blatantly obvious that it looked very similar to a particular body part at first glance. I tried redrawing it with a more pronounced snout (2 and 3) to see if that would make it more acceptable, but I still don't think it will fly.
To be honest, I am okay with it looking like this. It might even fit into the game's narrative really well. But it's not very good for a YouTube thumbnail where it would most likely get flagged. I will be working on putting together a more useable image to use as a thumbnail.

haha you are the first person to say it doesn't look phallic! Yeah I've decided to try to make/find another picture to use as a thumbnail. I like the idea of the mother being used, but I might try for something more attention grabbing. I'm still trying to decide if I want it to be a gradual transformation or a sudden transformation. I am leaning toward it being more sudden however, since this would save me a lot of time on artwork. And my idea for how the little girl handles the situation, I was planning on the girl being a silent protagonist, with all emotions projected from the player. So we wouldn't really see how the girl deals with the situation, it would be how the player deals with the situation. I am always up for suggestions however so if you have any ideas that might work really well in this scenario I would love to hear them!

Honestly? I don't think the worm/maggot looks like anything phallic. But it would be off-putting as a thumbnail for a video. Why not use the mother as the thumbnail if you want to put the most focus on her when explaining your update? With the worm thing though, is this going to be like a gradual change? A sudden change? How is the little girl coming to terms to what happened to her village? ...which I realize is Moreno asking how the story is going to progress
