Update remaking Minecraft but worse
🕑 Added 2025-06-21 03:00:05 +0000 UTCHere's an update video about everything I've gotten put together so far guys! And here is the tldr synopsis if you can't or don't want to sit through five minutes of my voice 😅
1) The game is poking fun at the creepy animals in the minecraft movie.
2) Gameplay- out of a herd of animals, there are monsters hiding among them pretending to be like the others and you need to find out which ones are the normal animals and which ones are the monsters.
3) Things I would like to add-
-different settings, since the current dusty one isn't very scary atm
-more animal types (forgot to mention that in the video)
-shop for upgrade
4) I might be my first publish to steam? might charge money for it?
5) I'm trying to decide if I want to finish the game and make one video about it (will take a little while still) or split the progress in half and make a first half video and then a second half video later (video will come out much sooner).

oh yes pigs and cows would be perfect! I was thinking about adding a bee and llama, but that's just based on the Minecraft movie (which I haven't seen yet 😅) and the idea that the infection spreads if you eat a monster animal is an interesting, idea, I'm going to be thinking about this!

Oooo this looks neat!!! I'd say for new animal types; pigs or cows would be easy enough, would fit the 'minecraft-but-worse' theme since those animals exist in it hah. could also be a lore thing. WHY are you checking for monsters? well this is your Food Supply, you gotta make sure they either don't get eaten by the monster in there, or you dont end up eating monsters (possibly how infection spreads, injestion? i am spitballing lol)

oooo this is good this is good. I especially like the slaughterhouse idea for a setting, I'm DEFINITLY going to add that. and I really like the idea of something contaminating a food supply, these are great Jan🤩👌

For a different setting, it might be something like (for the lack of a better word) a slaughterhouse? It's pretty close to the farm tbh though. Yap session starting, when you talked about one of the inspirations for the game and showed the zombie one (and also this being about animals and you wanting to add more animals) instantly gave me the vibe of like, the fungi getting in the flour supply. So there could be a background story of trying to stop whatever this monster is from contaminating the food supply. With some enviroments and maybe theming the market place around this (Or any other idea, this isn't the best) you could 'show' a little story but not tell. Yap session over.
