Simple Slavery Rebuild

Throughout the years the mod has received quite a lot of updates and different maintainers but throughout all this time, there was always one thing that really bothered me: The auction hall.
The mod is certainly not aiming for realism, and I have no intention to change anything about that, yet a proper role playing environment still wants to tap into that atmosphere that you expect to feel, to surround you and the cozy small room with the warm and welcoming lighting isn't exactly doing that.
SS Rebuild is a mod aiming to address that very aspect of Simple Slavery: Atmosphere.
- The (interior) entrance, rather than entering the cell directly, now features a long dark hallway leading underground. Similar to the Ragged Flagon, although not exactly like it, Simple Slavery presents itself as another example of Riften's corruption, hiding in shadows
- The main hall reaches to roughly 4 times the original cells size. A high ceiling stares down at you from all angles and the exit feels like an unreachable goal
- Lighting has been overhauled, from the warm, cozy brown-red to a cold, isolating brownish-grey, expressing the seriousness of the situation. Accents and ambient pull you away from the entrance, shutting you in, onto the pedestal, for everyone to gaze at
- The focus of the entire cell is re-directed to the pedestal. The holding cell you spawn in is starved of light and the, the "breathing decoration" put away and forgotten in the back of the cell. The first and only thing you see when you enter is the main attraction, and the only thing the main attraction can see is the unknown future they are to embrace and the ones that are soon to share their fate
- NPC have been more spaced out, what used to be a fun family gathering is now a proper gathering place where each looks out for just the right thing to take home. With a second floor, still offering an ideal view towards the pedestal and the much larger backroom, NPC can walk around much more freely - So much in fact, that I added another 4 NPC to the cell
- Three corrupt guards are scattered around the market (not counted to the 4 mentioned above) making sure that this very much legal and noble establishment doesn't end in chaos. But that's not all they do; Having authorities keep order in these halls sends a very clear message that not even the law is going to help you get out of here
In combination, all these things will add a very much intimidating and ominous feeling to the cell. I put great effort in making sure that just stepping a foot into the main hall instantly welcomes you with an eerie feeling; this isn't a family meeting and you're definitely not doing legal things there. Being a nice guy also wont get you far. Trying to stop it, be a hero? You forgot about the guards?
Being the one in chains isn't much better: The lack of light in the spawn cell forces your attention towards the auction itself where everyone will just ignore you. Unlike in the original cell, nobody will look in your direction anymore, you don't exist until you're up. And once you're up? Well, you have a big room with many, many eyes directed directly at you. I placed the walls and the pedestal specifically so that no matter in which direction you look, someone will stare back and thanks to the cell layout and lighting, you will feel intimidated and all alone. These eyes staring at you? That's the only future you got, you'll never reach that exit, just give up on it.
Compatibility
SSR only edits the Simple Slavery cell, it does not delete anything and uses the original objects and markers where possible. I do not change any scripts and only edit a couple of dialogue options that were necessary to determine if the player is currently jailed or not.
The mod should also be compatible with all future versions of SS, so long these versions dont include new objects/NPC to the simple slavery cell or add new dialogue that is only supposed to be available when the player is free/enslaved. I will of course update the mod if such changes should occur
Requirements:
- Simple Slavery++; please ensure you got the latest version on LL. I do not know if earlier ones work
