Hmm, on the previous page Orchard said she she’s going to hear her daughter out… and then here she walks away from her without doing so any further? May be overthinking, but I’d think getting more details while still fresh in her mind would be useful here (what exactly she saw, where, when during her watch, etc…)?

What if Merrikh found out he has a daughter and wants her to raise in ranks? He could be gradually sneaking in (or someone he works with) to off higher ranks so his daughter gets to the top. Or at least rank 2. Either that or someone is trying to sabotage Apple. Nothing has happened until Apple joined the ranks. They would be suspicious that bad things are now starting to happen.

Knogle immediately planting suspicion onto Apple despite BARELY beating Comet while having suffered great injuries- is extremely strange. How could someone like Apple, someone who’d JUST gotten their rank, is injured, inexperienced AND has shown no reason to commit such deeds, even come close to harming someone like Salem? I understand Knoggle is also traumatized by Merrikh, so it’s reasonable to be paranoid.. but I can’t help but have this teeny, tiny feeling that there’s more to Knoggle than what we’ve been shown so far.

What I’m wondering is why no one is questioning Apple about seeing a Rankless and not reporting it. We know she dismissed it as her imagination and fell asleep. But the other dragons don’t know that. Wouldn’t they wanna know why she didn’t report it to Salem or another leader?
