Patreon Development Update 05.02.2021

We want to update you on what is going on and give you an overview of what to expect in the next few weeks.
First and foremost, an important notice that the expected build in February will be delayed to March. We are now at a very critical point in the development of Wild Life and the step we are about to make is very important for the future of the development.
So what is this step we are talking about?
Until now we have been releasing builds that are more sandbox than anything else. Some fairly detached prototype systems like quest and combat here and there, but mostly just landscape, characters and animations along with some customizations.
You hopefully know by now that our goals with Wild Life are much more than that. We want to make an actual RPG with story, quests, combat, exploration, an open world and very detailed cinematic intimate encounters. To get there we now need to work on the game’s code-base to perform a “feature split”. Much of the way things currently work needs to be separated into two different game modes; the story mode and the sandbox mode. This involves customization, dialogue, quest, combat, sex system, interaction system, level loading and layers, controls and more.
Why are we taking this step?
This separation allows us to concentrate on creating the actual game without having to worry about things breaking due to our various sandbox features like possessing different characters.
So what can you expect from this?
There will be two game modes available to choose from in the main menu. The story mode and the sandbox mode. While the sandbox mode holds all functionality that you are used to from the builds up until now, the story mode will contain the actual Wild Life story game work. This may include first implementations of quest lines, dialogues, cutscenes, enemy encounters, sex encounters, survival, progression and all other aspects that make an RPG.
Both of these modes will be worked on and extended of course. New characters, animations, levels, clothes and the like will of course be available in the sandbox, so you can expect something new there with each build as always.
How long will this mode separation step take?
We cannot say exactly how long, but our coders estimate around 1 month of work. During this period we will not be able to package stable builds with the functionality you deserve. That is why the next patreon release will be delayed until around late march.
Next week we will update you further on what else we are working on and what you can expect in the upcoming build :)

Yea, I really am hopeful that Steve and his team has a chance to go crazy with this game. The more weird and off the wall it can get is what I hoping for. A while back I mentioned that maybe there could be alien/gray's maybe diablo size giving the raiders a run for there money. Space and being lore friendly may be two different things maybe. Alien abduction would be a fun concept I think. I just randomly put things out there. Vanilla anything is just not interesting to me at all. I really hope that the split is just what the doctor ordered for the crazy to be a reality.

I mean we're talking about a hostile alien world filled with furries and lizard men who are extremely lustful so.. no not weird at all lmao. This has been argued before but if people only want normal shit then they can go elsewhere like an actual porn sight or 1 million other adult games with strictly humans. (Which is why they said they were going to split this game up.. for "those" folk & business reasons, views, etc.). To each their own but a lot of people like myself are tired/bored with the same old crap so a game like this with such good quality is extremely rare as it caters to everyone. We should both mention that octopus idea down the road though. Definitely a good mention.

Yea, I know they must be so completely occupied with what's going on at present and how important it is. I was practicing running, crouching and flying and tried the salivarius and same thing. Almost seems to be incompatible with the game but it does look really good when it doe's work. Funny, one octopus could handle at least 3 or more fem's at once. Weird huh, I know.

An octopus is an awesome idea. I could see some extremely creative animations for both M/F. However it seems they are more focused on the release of the game than anything else. It'd be cool if they had a suggestions post but as stated, more important things seem to be the focus right now sadly.. they should write this one down though.

Having a Salivarius creature in game as is with those wonderful animations could there then be an octopus creature on or near the beaches? Seems like an octopus creature would be an interesting character since seeing how intelligent they are in real life. Going one step further, it would be cool if it could change color according to its different moods. That would be a tuff one to create I imagine.

Hey Steve, I have noticed that with Salivarius the game crashes most of the time. Do you guys ever plan on fixing it or even adding animations for it? If so then has there ever been a plan of creating any other plant based characters. He or it is a rather interesting character. I could see characters like that laying in wait in forest and jungle for any unsuspecting travelers walking down the beaten paths.

It be cool when you unlock stuff in story mode you should be able to use in sandbox and sandbox mode should be a life simultre in that time-line. Should be able to build a hut. gather food and build a fire to cook food and look for a man or woman.

I'm always impressed with the amazing quality of work your team produces. Will this help with the stability issues in the recent builds? I noticed the SEP 2020 build is very stable, but the NOV and DEC builds crash a lot for me.

Nice work, just wanted to point out that the latest build lags a bit more with the new fx and details added. I tried running the game in low texture but it removes a lot of the character details. I run NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 3 GB with an icore 5 processor, is it too low for this game?

I fully support the decision of taking your time with this project as everyone else, and I also believe it's a smart move separating both story & sandbox because you'll be able to cater to both more directly and specifically. Great idea. If I may add any input I would just like to say that this game truly has unlimited potential. I know the Wildlife team wants to get this game out to market and a lot of other people aren't as patient as us fellow patrons but when this game is released I'm sure there will still be tons of things that can be added as dlc which I know you said will most likely happen. However, I don't project you to totally reinvest your capital but I ask for the Wildlife team to not give up on this game after release and beyond. In any case whatever your decision, at least enable mod support if the team chooses to move on. Anyway, if you read this thank you for taking the time. Hey if it means we get an actual game to go with the fun stuff I am willing to wait. I am looking forward to seeing some story game play as well as new animations and gear. I will think of it as a great month if you get a story demo by late March since I will have this and Monster Hunter Rise to play. Just in Wildlife it is more booty hunter less monster hunter. LOL

Please take your time with everything though. I rather wait months and know you work on it with care, than crunch out a game to a certain release date which might not life up to expected quality :)
