Build Release 23.08.2024 Announcement and Changelog

The August build is almost ready!
Story:
Regarding quests, Apoc and the Lake Village had lots of their quests iterated. The main goal was to strengthen the character motivation for complex quests like 'Market Rivalry' and 'Kumaan's Spear', while also making them feel less convoluted and have better player guidance. Also, several Lake Village side quests have been integrated into the main quest to make sure the player has a main quest marker at all times.
Combat:
While the combat is progressing quite well behind the scenes, we would rather polish it some more before showing it to you. We have also decided it would be best to release the combat together in one package with the actual enemies placed on the worldmap, rather than in a separate greybox test level as before, so as to make for a bigger, more complete content update at a later date.
Level:
We've made progress on several areas, including major locations, mini-locations, and a new dungeon. Yterra has now reached the finalized blockout B stage and mini-locations have undergone their next iteration with 23 caves ready for exploration.
Sandbox:
The biggest new feature here is the Character switcher - Characters in the scene can now be freely assigned to sex scenes and poses (and also removed from them again), which finally makes it very simple to use your custom characters everywhere.
Advanced bone-controller UI, allows you to more comfortably manage bone-control objects like bulk-editing, bulk-adding and baking down.

The story implementations have entered spoiler territory so we have included warnings at key dialogue options.

• Resolved crash due to work around for character mesh corruption
• Resolved crash when entering edit mode while possessing a poser or sex scene
• Resolved giving the Apoc Stew to Borco immediately finishing the 'A Simple Supper' quest
• Resolved talking to Taurok while guiding him to Nugget's location completing the quest line
• Resolved a case where Farus wouldn't give the player the 'Bloody Rags' item
• Agon's introduction briefing for the Kumaan's spear quest is now skipped if the quest is finished before talking to Agon about it
• Koodie should more reliably navigate on her field trip without getting stuck
• Morris should now reliably leave his prison cell
• Improved the waterbodies in the Lake Village lake and in the cistern tributary
• Sandbox editor: Resolved rainy and snowy weather types not working
• Sandbox editor: Resolved shower prop not working
• Sandbox editor: Resolved crash in input prop
• Sandbox editor: Resolved various T-Pose issues with poses/sex scenes
• Sandbox editor: Resolved duplicating sex scenes losing character slots
• Sandbox editor: Resolved sex scenes resetting to the first animation when toggling camera sequence enabled status

Known Issues:
• Nav mesh generation is very slow for performance reasons, so NPCs can get stuck in the middle of their path, but will continue once the nav mesh is generated
• Setting animation speed and amplitude to zero causes sex toys to disappear
• Clothes textures will not fully load in the character creator
• Physics break if you scale characters in the sandbox editor
• Rendering issue on moving characters - most noticeable on hair and clothing

• Quests: Kira moved to Umbar and is roommates with Zuri now
• Quests: Akil and his outpost moved. They are now located near Rhoc's location and 'guard' the entrance to the pillar region.
• Quests: Akil's dialogue has been partially reworked.
• Quests: The structure of the 'We Come in Peace' main quest has been reworked. There shouldn't be a possible case of not having a quest marker anymore.
• Quests: The quests 'Dr. Snoat's Patient' and 'Going Into the Woods' have been integrated into the main quest. Several quest steps have been added to guide the player more naturally towards Rhoc's location.
• Quests: Nero's quest has been improved. Several steps were added to better guide the player to Nero's fishing spot. As a result, Janara has new dialogue outside the Koodie emergency now.
• Quests: Iterated the 'Market Rivalry' quest to make the whole thing less convoluted. Improved the dialogues of Djablo and the caravan trader.
• Quests: Reworked the 'A Whisper in the Ear' quest dialogues to match its new quest objectives.
• Quests: Added a 'neutral' option to Taurok's and Nugget's quest, in case the player doesn't want to side with either of them.
• Quests: Morris can leave his prison cell again. Morris now wants to be escorted back to the drill station north of Apoc after saving him.
• Quests: Opened the gate to the Apoc cistern for now, until a missing feature is implemented.
• Quests: Reworked the 'Kumaan's Spear' quest after finishing the 'King of Thieves' quest to better convey the motivation for stealing the spear in the first place and clarifying quest objectives.
• Quests: Added lots of log texts and set dialogue emotions (some skeletons miss the animations still and therefore don't show them yet).
• Sandbox editor: Updated some face poses for Rawn and Kral
• Sandbox editor: Improved the Focus Object functionality for small objects and characters
• Sandbox editor: Copy/Pasting a sandbox object into a different parent will correct the scale difference now
• Sandbox editor: Using Ctrl while box selecting objects will now deselect objects in the scene or keyframes in animation sequence
• Sandbox editor: Searchable combo boxes only select filtered results now when using keyboard or scroll navigation
• Sandbox editor: Holding Shift while creating a group will now make that group match the transform of the active selected object
• Sandbox editor: Resolved bone control objects not being able to be changed via UI
• Sandbox editor: Resolved event list collapsing every time the selection changes
• Sandbox editor: Resolved duplication of objects (specifically rope attachments and animation sequence track objects) not redirecting to duplicated objects

Damn, I just remembered when I first saw the rough Alpha stage of this game and thought, "Neat, I wonder what'll become of it in a year or two." Now look at how far it has come! It has become so much more than I ever dared to imagine! The scope and the scale was ambitious from the start, but realistic and clearly well planned from the looks of it. This game, once fully released, will definitely become a milestone in this genre of games, to which others like it will be compared to for years to come. I wish the entire team well and hope you guys and girls can keep up the quality. Now off to test the newest build...

No unfortunately that is not possible. But you can use any character within the same skeletal group (i.e. Maya base, Max base etc.) on any animation which has them. So you can make more complex presets and freely move them around these different states.

Wait, does that means that in the sandbox when can now use any characters with any sex scenes no matter of the genre or race?
