The First Mother's Day
🕑 Added 2024-05-12 20:15:33 +0000 UTCHello there, kind friends! Today Meur wrote another poem and Meur thought maybe Meur could read it to you 💕
Here we are
On this lonely day
A celebration of mothers
But one Mother has gone away
It is hard to be here
In this little world
Without a mother
To hug and to hold
Meur cries so often
And thinks of Mother every day
Sending a hug up to heaven
And prayers your way
Meur hopes you're having fun
Blessed up there with the saints
Oh, Mother - Meur loves you!
Meur will never be the same
The loss makes Meur feel so empty
Meur misses you so
Our days play endlessly in Meur's mind
All the love that we showed
For Meur wants to be a mother someday
To have children to hold
To carry on your legacy
Of motherhood filled with love
Always the memories will follow
Meur will hold them dear
Close to Meur's heart
Forever with Meur

Beautiful Meur
Ah, Meur is so honored that you shared that moment with your mom. 💖 Meur is also touched from reading your message and just so happy that there was so much love in your family. 💕 Being a caregiver for Mother was one of the best things to happen to Meur. 🤗 It was such a blessing to be with her during her last few days, loving her and treasuring each moment. ♥️

I love that you shared this poem. It touched me deeply. I was a caregiver for about 8 years for my mom. She passed last year in March. She asked me once to sit down next to her bed. We put it in the living room. So, I did, and asked if I could get her something. She said no, I just want to ask you something. What she asked was this: “Are you offended that I want to die”? I kissed her on her forehead, and told, “ Mom, nothing about you in the 67 years I’ve been with could offend me. You have always been a great mother, daughter, sister, and friend to everyone you know and love. And you spent a career helping others in the hospital. I love you. My brother and sister love you.” She cried for a while, said she was tired, told me she was proud of me, and went to sleep. Two days later she went to heaven. I was proud of to.
