I’m gonna put it simple. Generations of slavery and segregation in this country robbed many black & brown people of income and assets. Turns out when you’re forced to work for zero pay, this affects your net worth, but not just yours, but your kids, and their kids’ kids, etc etc. Lots of these poor people are therefore robbed of opportunities that, if not for the RACIST POLICIES (aka slavery, Jim Crow,) they may otherwise have.
