Ah, right, there are multiple story-threads, got me confused a little.
They are for self defense. Remember the place can be full of armed guards.

I must admit I'm a bit lost about the story. What are they supposed to need the guns for? To kill their counterparts? Not likely, since at least Cato's is already dead.

I love that little dramatic bubble and the very gaunt Arno. A nice little touch of comic releif in a tense moment. xD
