Important update for my supporters

First of all, I'd wanted to let you know that MMG#31 is close to being complete. It will be dedicated to Alpha Wolf's latest album. We will working on guitar tones this week. The video should be there somewhere around 23 of August. So far I'm done with overall mix, drums and bass models.

MMG31 Tone Test (Full mix)
MMG31 Tone Test (Without rhythm guitars)
Drum model is based on Modern Metal Drumkit video I posted few months ago, and for bass I'm gonna have reworked version of Chronos. I got rid of old 6th string and replaced it with down-tuned notes of open 5th, so now it can actually be used for super low tunings

Now to the main subject of this post. Achieving $700 is my target for this year. Sure one may argue that $400 is pretty good amount, but honestly that is not enough to keep going. It would be if I'd be on my own, but I'm not. I have several videos in production for this year (2 of them are 80% done, reserved for August and September) and hopefully posting regularly will improve my current situation.

In order to speed things up I introduced new tiers:
- Helping Hand (3$/month)
Members of this tier can get my feedback on their productions as well as help in solving any kind of production-related problems. Think of it as a light form of coaching. If you feel stuck or not quite understand something - I'm there for you. - Rough Instrumental Production (10$/month). Production of 1 instrumental track per month based on MMG28-30 projects. In few words - you send me the files, pick the project, I edit/randomize MIDI for bass and drums, reamp your guitars and pass the stems following original processing algorithm, apply minor corrections to make everything more round and provide you with results in requested formats (after initial approval of course). This tier doesn't include any form of audio editing, that's why it's cheap. It may be useful for those who can't use my projects (lack of software, experience, processing resources) or simply don't want to bother.
- Clean Instrumental Production (25$/month). Same as previous tier, but with proper audio editing (which takes time) and audio restoration (if possible). May include minor set of production stems (synths and other small things)
- Complete Song Production (50$/month). Same as Clean, but also including vocals mix/editing and full range of manipulations with audio in order to achieve best results I can provide
Since I'm not accepting annual or upfront payments, you are free to edit/cancel your membership if you're not satisfied with my work when it comes to Production tiers. From now I will decline all offers aside from Patreon, meaning that I'm here full time for those who support what I do.

In order to show what kind of changes will be introduced as we move forward I also set up list of goals.
- $500 (next) per month - upgrade to Neural DSP amps
Revalver IV will be reserved as a backup option, while Neural amps become the primary one. With all my love to Revalver, it's fair to admit that it's outdated. Modern software is much more transparent and I'd like to take advantage of that. I actually plan to incorporate Archetype Gojira in MMG#31 - $600 per month - instant upgrade from Reference4 to SoundID Reference
While R4 does excellent job in terms of flattening what I hear, with SoundID version I will be able to check my mixes in simulated environments. Better translation across different sound systems will be the main outcome - $700 per month - upgrade from Scarlett 2i2 to 4i4
The reason is simple - lack of loopback. Meaning that I can't record my DAW sound digitally. In order to do this I have to physically connect outputs to inputs, crank up monitor preamp (75%) and do parallel record in Reaper. All of that distorts my waveform making the outcome far from clean. Effect adds up during in video rendering (conversion to AAC), and even more in second conversion via YouTube. Results are pretty damn obvious. Loopback of 4i4 will allow me to avoid initial quality loss as I'll be able to digitally route 2nd stereo out to Reaper. No noise, no preamp distortion, clean recording. To sum it all up - sound quality of my videos will be on point. And yes, most importantly, after switch I'll present my current 2i2 to one of you. I suggest that community will decide best way to arrange this (random choice, mixing competition, some sort of poll, etc)
With all that being said I admit that there were ups and downs throughout the history of my channel. I learned my lessons and really dedicate myself to deliver projects in best possible quality. At the end of the day it is you who support this entire thing and it surely wouldn't go that far without your help. I appreciate the opportunity you gave me and won't let you down.
Thank you

I am in the same position as Xavier and interested in the exact same thing. Having a MMG guide would be great focussed on say Behmoth's The Satanist, but more relevant in terms of Xavier's post, I'm interested if you could do a doom/black thing for a track that I'd send with the sound references being Mgla and/or The Satanist album? In terms of stems I have all that stuff easily accessible and formats are no problem.

Hey man, first of all, thank you for your amazing work. I'm super interested in full instrumental production. The only problem is that my project doesn't really matches your tutorials that are either djent or thrash metal, my project is more some kind of progressive doom/black metal. I'm still working on it, just have drums, bass, and guitars tracked so I don't know if you also accept to give the project files and not just the track fully mixed. Is there any way you could produce my track based on my mix references ? (ruins of beverast, batushka, mgla, dissection, alcest) I would be up to pay more money if it doesn't matches your tiers.
