The Crystal Gems seem like genuinely good people, but this shook my faith in them. They didn't think about Lapis as a trapped person, or they would (surely?) have set her free. They didn't think of her as a corrupted gem monster, or they would have bubbled the mirror. They thought of her as a useful tool. And their faces when Steven tells them it's a person are horrified but also kind of guilty. It wasn't hard to befriend the mirror, or Centipeedle. They didn't try.

"30 more episodes to get up to speed with most of the basic lore" made me laugh, because it's ridiculous and also true. No matter how much SU you watch there is always another mindblowing reveal around the corner.
