We Need to Talk is such an important episode, especially in retrospect. It gives you one of the first real looks into how Rose thinks. She’s generally nice, but she didn’t really think of Greg as an equal until he really made her stop and think about it, it’s really the first time you see some of Rose’s flaws. It also really reinforces how antagonistic Pearl and Greg’s relationship was (and to a degree still is). It’s a great episode that only gets better as you learn more about Rose, Pearl, and the Gem War.
