I believe the person in the voice mail is the father's mistress or second wife. Both her parents split up- even tho she found out they where together in a car and died together. They weren't in love to be together. So he remarried or had another women. I believe this women can tell her what happened to her parents but the trauma of losing them is very hard on her to the point she doesn't talk much about it.
