🕑 Added 2021-11-06 10:18:29 +0000 UTCThis one was pretty tricky to come up with. I had to ask myself, what does Rex want, shamefully? What is his truest, most guilty, deepest-buried desire? (At least, as of SMQ Act 1).
Rex doesn't like himself. But a mirror Rex that just stands there and dislikes him wouldn't be fun. Rex doesn't like himself because he wishes he was better: an abstract better him that would've been good enough to keep his parents from getting divorced, and who would sort of fulfill an unfulfillable itch of feeling good enough and comfortable in his skin.
Rex wishes he was someone else entirely, but also wishes he was someone he could like. Rex, however, has strong pride of himself as a monster - but has seen plenty of movies glorifying humans, seeding him with the idea, deep down and however-denied-it-might-be, that human good, monster bad. So, his guilty pleasure: the wish to be human, because a human would be a better him.
