I'm glad to say this update took less time than the others, and I managed to pull it within a month since the previous one ^-^
Patchnote FtD v0.8.3 :
New content :
Added the first mission given by Petallis in the overworld.
Added an over-eating cutscene with Petallis at the end of the first mission.
Added ruins of buildings in the level. Player might get to rebuild those during future missions.
New features :
Added the ability to warp between the overworld and the level. Inventory and mission progress are transferred between both scenes.
Added the ability to hide the dialogue box by pressing [H].
Added a popup window system to show messages to the player.
Added the possibility to switch to empty hand by pressing [LShift]. Only available when the food launcher is unlocked, doesn’t have any use for now.
Code and sprite rework :
Reworked the code for mob spawning in the level.
Partially reworked the code of the player.
Reworked CheeseBoy house sprite.
Adjusted stone portal height and its collision. Added a turned off variation in StoryMode.
Partially implemented the Yarn extension to load dialogues and make the writing more scalable.
Slightly lowered volume of jump SFX + Added footstep SFX for player in level.
Bug fixing :
Fixed a small error in CheeseBoy overworld sprite
Code that will need some rework in future updates :
Dialogue system in the level. I will need to merge the one from the overworld and from the level so that it works correctly in both scenes.
