I wanted to add that balloons give that smooth look & rigs are a little closer to being real

I also like both but the problem with a rig as you show. It takes a lot of time & effort to rebuild it. Where as with ballons it's a simple fix to just replace. Hope you will be able to rebuild your rig & know the limits of it. With rig you can also show nipples which is something that balloons can't.
