Karl is a stand up sorta mensch but he's kind of a sucker for a sob story. He maintains the trouble follows him. Amongst all his anxiety, Karl wonders if there is a fine line between trying to set a good example and being a phoney. Deep down, he knows he wants to do what's right.

The fine line he worries about is only there if you don't believe in what you do, I find. I think Karl's my favorite goblin character because I get that uphill battle. You always feel like you miss out on the advantages and shortcuts when you walk the straight and narrow.
