How much easier would it be for pi to catch a shiny Aron than fully complete Sapphire?

Does Pokemon Sapphire have any softlock situations (like the kind that Pikasprey takes and then tries to find escapes from)? If so, then we may not be on a winning sequence. We might be on a softlock sequence. Probably not (given how obscure of setups they seem to require, the proportion of inputs that would lead to a softlock sequence are probably substantially smaller than those that would lead to a win), but possibly.
