Next Guru: Gad Saad
🕑 Added 2021-07-23 22:31:07 +0000 UTCWith the release today of our Sagan episode we decided that for the next main episode we would return to modern gurus by leaping back into the cess pool with both feet and covering Gad Saad.
We are actually considering doing a twofer with some other terrible person he interviews, like Rubin…
If you have any suggestions please let us know in the comments below.

have you seen the clip where Rogan hassles him for being overweight. hard to watch...🙄. Also know you're avoiding the politics but before i realised what this guy was about he interviewed, v-e-r-y sympathetically Ann Marie Watters ... look her up!

I didn't know this guy so I just watched a 5 min clip. OMG what a narcissist!!! He actually reminded me of an annoying old man academic I used to work with. What about his interview with Rogan? I've heard Rogan described as a gateway drug to the far right.

Is there a place where we should make guru suggestions that aren’t related to Saad and Rubin?

Would be interesting to also hear one of them being interviewed on Rogan so you could focus on the subject but also note how little pushback Rogan gives on certain claims.

This is gonna be good!

I’ve listened to his content. He wants to be a guru, it’s just he’s not very smart.

I would definitely listen to a Dave Rubin episode, although does he really have many guru qualities? He would score pretty high on grifting

Yeh, there's definitely a category of someone who exhibits guru like characteristics but doesn't actually attract a following. A brown dwarf shares many characteristics of a star but the fact that it doesn't have sufficient mass to sustain fusion is important.

You could do a 2 parter on Dave Rubin.
Andrew Mac
Surely Rubin deserves his own episode. So much to 'analyse' through the DTG lens.

No, he I worse! He wants so bad to be a guru. But he can’t quite pull it off.
William LEGRAIN
He took such a nose dive in the last couple years. Idk if I consider him a guru though, does he actually have a following? Does the amount of followers that someone has matter when considering a guru? Probably hard to measure.

Saad and Rubin in the same episode? I suspect that would be amazing. Now, that could be wrong….but it could also not be wrong. The fact that it’s even plausible…..is a STUNNING fact.

Very excited for this one.

Just make it a ten hour podcast. Chris and Matt can quit their jobs.

I'm afraid if you cover his conversation with Rubin, you'll be unable to control yourself from making fun of Rubin the whole time and not focus so much on Saad. This conversation might be worth looking at, where he characterizes pathogenic ideas (post-modernism) and then goes on to discuss some of his own (bad covid takes) without realizing any contradictions. https://youtu.be/z_F5uNCB6-g

Yes!! You gonna take down my boi. This better be as good as I expect it to be.
