So I’ve been drawing as fooooly for about 10 years now, and lately I can’t bring myself to make any fooooly art that I feel happy with any more. I really miss that feeling. In an effort to inspire myself I’ve been sinking into a self-destructive porn addiction. its pretty clear that i like porn but wanting to draw it is a entirely different desire that i dont have right now.
I’m sorry to anyone who’s here primarily to support more art, but I think I’m just delaying the inevitable if I don’t take some time to build a new path for myself. I keep telling myself, “Just draw a couple quick pictures each month and everyone’s happy,” like I can clock in like a nine-to-five and crank out a dozen drawings in a week. But ive never found the tenacity to work like that.
It’s mentally exhausting to keep drawing in already well-worn ground, the same poses and ideas I’ve been repeating for years. my character fan art has a pretty niche appeal, leaning heavily into ideas that are mostly appreciated within this fetish.
All that said... I’m not closing my accounts, and I’m not leaving for good.
I think the best way to put it is i want to see my art mature, and try not to lean heavily on horniness as a crutch.
If you’ve been following for a while, you probably recognize the “character” of my drawings. the kinds of ideas I tend to fall back on. That’s what I need a break from right now. i just can't really keep up being the same fooooly any more. 10 years of drawing hundreds of anime and cartoon characters being giant, i feel like im hitting my limit on that.
so ill still be around this month and next, ive still got a folder to post at the end of this month. i'd even like to do some sfw streams.

I always figured you had either a separate account where you do sfw stuff or just drew sfw on your own without showing anyone. After seeing so many nsfw artist burn themselves to the ground I'd say do only sfw for a year. It sounds like a bad thing, I know, but it could reignite your passion for doing nsfw maybe once in a while

I think this is very understandable. horniness is kind of a spontaneous thing and I imagine it can feel demoralizing having to force yourself into that headspace as a job, its like the difference between eating cake on your birthday vs eating cake frosting every day of your life. it can dull your senses, characters and scenarios becoming interchangeable, not leaving much impression. I think its good to take breaks often and give yourself time to miss it. I think patreon can kinda be the problem here since it creates an expectation to release at least something once a month
