Thought that was RFK for a second. They're really matching outfits lately

Dawkins has that face you put on when you are placating a small child’s very long-winded, directionless storytelling, knowing full well that it has no point whatsoever.

I'm not convinced that moustache is real (in the technical sense).

JBP: It’s not just real, it’s hyper real. So much so it makes me really hyper angry. Like how dare you doubt the power and reality of the symbol? Don’t you know that there are parts of hyper reality that transcend empiricism? It’s like Cain (who might or might not be actually but who is definitely real hyper real). That’s the cause of my delight at seeing Peterson’s abstractions turn to a type of emphatic and angry defence mechanism. Chef’s kiss! 😊👌 I did also have to giggle when Dawkins itemises the number of times Cain gets a mention!! 🤣🤣

Oooohhh I just listened and part of me delighted in hearing the cringe in JBP’s voice (and a smallish part of me felt sorry for him??)

We need a Windbaggery award. Or a guru roast!? The room is full of contenders!

Seems like Jordison beats down his critics with cult-leader-esque methods. Maybe people just have to shut their own critical thinking down to keep talking to him. It’s like he doesn’t even hear what others are saying unless they fit into his fantastical world view.

Nice ep, like most eps covering JBP. Why the new jingle though?

An hour and a half later and Matt still didn't go to prom with me. Always the groomsman, never the the groom :(

Really really interesting this - including the bit on ‘is Christianity necessary for science?’ I’d also add that much of the ‘Christian’ in science comes from sciency Christians taking ideas from anywhere at all when they could - India and Islam for maths (I imagine other examples) but also Ancient Greece for morality (eg Augustine takes up Plato), logical expression (eg Aquinas takes up Aristotle), and, well empirical science (eg, Descartes and others freaking out about Sextus Empiricus’ text when it is introduced to renaissance Europe) - also, an aside: Empiricus is the source of the term ‘empiricism’ Bunch of pagans the lot of them!

That has to be by far the best thumbnail ever. If I could make it a poster I’ll hang it on my wall.

This conversation is so frustrating. Also, this graphic is out of control. 😂

The first time Dawkins said "you're drunk on symbols" Jordan said "you might say that"

Best thumbnail yet 😂😂😂
