Also I can see why ol’ Del Boy ‘Brand’ trotter would flip on is ideology if he has a financial stake in a new market. Thanks for the thought provoking comments! Maybe it’s less of a left right thing and more of a up down divide!? I just finished Mick West’s book, I like his concept of the demarcation line. Although I was rather confused when he said Joe Rogan and Abby Martin are rabbit hole escapee’s. I find both very partisan but from opposing ends. Thanks again for all your hard work at DTG

Lots of partisans happily eject their earlier ideology when it suits & Sonje that's the typical progressive line but it doesn't address the existence of people like Brand who have moved very easily from left-wing revolutionary to right-wing populist with little issue.

I happened across Russell Brand on YouTube at a time when he was interviewing mostly ex or current ISKCON devotees, and promoting a meditation app/stream. I didn't realise that he was the copresenter that had been sacked/suspended with Jonathan Ross after some scandalous tomfoolery on BBC Radio. Indeed I recommended his podcast to my mum, because of his playful, loquacious New Age presentation.

Glad I'm not alone. I don't know about you but the allegations about Russell made me reflect on some of the mad stories that used to come up on the show that, now with hindsight, feel very wrong. But that aside think about how Russell was going around wearing a blanket in the Audioboom days, acting like a spiritual shaman. This version of him was always on the cards but it feels much more extreme. Perhaps all a ploy for some redemption with regards to the allegations. I do always wonder what Matt thinks of it all
