Maybe they could think the medicine has a different effect, which is still an effect, but much weaker than MC thought. For example, it could help people who strained their cultivation by practicing regardless of the pain, and are starting to get problems with their cultivation even if they no longer cultivate regardless of the pain, like being literally unable to stack as much chi in their bodies, and the more they keep pushing the less chi they can push into their bodies. For such people, such a pill could help them by expelling the stacked toxins, allowing people to cultivate normally once again, and that includes straining their cultivation again. In that case, the price for a pill might be enough. Especially since, by that time, people would have already learned what their normal refractory period is for cultivation, and because they want to heal, they wouldn't try to cultivate until their refractory period is over, and maybe even more if MC says that doing so can have bad results for them, like chi deviation.

I agree that it was a bit too on the nose. Maybe they could think the medicine has a different effect, which is still an effect, but much weaker than MC thought. Sigh, I'm really not a fan of that xianxia trope where the most obvious bad thing always happens... Next, I'm 100% sure they'll be able to figure out what the powder did, but not how it's made, then they would have figured out MC is related to it, then they'll want the recipe. And all of that right after MC raised some flags with stuff like "unless they investigate us directly it should be fine". For me, this kind of boring development really detracts from the immersion experience...

“So this should be yet, huh?” Long Yi muttered. yet -> it

I wonder if the beast would have a monster core and that could be the reason why they don’t target them as it drawing from that core which could be a crystallization of the toxins that happens during cultivation. Science it out. Maybe using activated charcoal infused with some herb to make a filtering pill. To rather reduce but to focus to a point by artificially making monster cores in humans. Because in most books monsters are stronger by a stage than human cultivators

FIRST! And I'm deciding how long before he puts the packet found on the body with the 3, and that lands them in new problems.
