The nobles' rebellion, orchestrated by a hidden mastermind mage, will prove the superiority of magic over brawn. Then Carlos shall demonstrate comp.sci magic and eventually become new King or smth :3

TYFTC! I love how Purple is able to build the house and things based off of the memories of Carlos and others, yet just doesn't quite hit the mark. Having som artisans and building constructors will really help. I do have to say that having an entire building up and functional in less than a day is really impressive. I think they might turn out to be one of the most powerful strongholds in the land with Purple managing things, and also having the level 54 well spring at their core.

Keep in mind that Amber and Carlos have Darmelkon’s son tied to them as a vassal. Kindar is both hostage and bargaining chip at this point. Darmelkon is a canny trader and understands that if he is aggressive or attempts to manipulate House Carlos for a quick profit, the axe will fall on his son. He sees more gain in the long-term in ingratiating himself to the new House Carlos. 1. Kindar will become noble and a house founder, but his position is strictly subordinate to Amber and Carlos. Without them, he never would have achieved this and even after the price paid by Darmelkon, this is a lifetime debt for Kindar himself. It cannot ever truly be paid in full. Darmelkon won’t risk his son’s future over some spying by craftsmen. 2. Besides the obvious vassalage arising from Kindar being raised to the nobility directly by them, Amber and Carlos intimately know Kindar’s soul plan. If Darmelkon double crosses them, they could utterly destroy Kindar’s Soul Structures if necessary. A fate worse than death. (They know Kindar’s weaknesses and could exploit that.) 3. The series of events and favors that allow this rise for Darmelkon’s son is more than a little unlikely. It is a borderline miracle that he happened upon Carlos who happened to know programming which happens to be similar to the system of magic and everything fell into place. Darmelkon wont do anything stupid to risk his son’s future or his own reputation as a merchant. He wont have another chance like this. 4. Darmelkon will consider his own debt and favors to Carlos “officially” paid off after settling the price for Kindar’s noble status upgrade. That doesnt preclude the opportunity for future deals with House Carlos or House Kindar. All future business with House Carlos and its vassals will be done at favorable, but not unprofitable, rates. This could be a very lucrative business opportunity. “Get in on the ground floor” as they say. (Invest in Bitcoin while it costs pennies and ride it to the moon!) 5. Darmelkon already has some knowledge of House Carlos secrets. Namely that the dungeon core can be freely anchored and unanchored at will. That itself is a huge deal (especially to the Enchanter’s Guild) and we haven’t heard of him selling the information. I think Darmelkon is smart enough to recommend shady characters or subpar workmen to spy or cut corners in this instance.

Yeah, the Royal family is cooked most likely. I still hope that is not the case, it would be a lame way for them to go in my opinion.

Darkarma

Welp there goes the Monarchy

Josh

I'm surprised they are willing to trust anyone provided by Darmelkon to work on their home. Advise, maybe, but unless there's a means of magically enforced secrecy I wouldn't want to trust Darmelkon...

Dale

Iirc lower ranked soul plans, those of the working class, absorb mana so much slower that it probably doesn’t matter.
